The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided to choose a 1st timer to try and liven up the Oscar awards this year.  Ellen Degeneres will be your host for this years event.

Hosting the event “requires someone who can keep the show alive and fresh and moving, as well as someone who is a flat-out great entertainer,” show producer Laura Ziskin said in the statement. “Ellen completely fits the bill.”

There is nothing like a car accident and some serious press to help you land a gig hosting an awards show.  Ellen will most likely start the show with some bad dancing and a shout out to her DJ that will also be tagging along for the opening number.  She can’t do any worse than Letterman, but can she live up to Billy Crystal’s pas performances?

Lindsay Lohan can’t catch a break lately. First she passes out on set, gets yelled at by the head of the studio, has her love life questioned, has a fake upskirt picture circulate the web, and now she gets robbed!

Lindsay Lohan lost some luggage at Heathrow Airport Thursday, but the film star will have to wait and see if police can track down the Hermes bag and the jewelry that was inside it.

The Metropolitan Police said a 20-year-old woman reported the theft Thursday evening after she noticed her orange bag was definitely not aboard her luggage cart.

is my problem with this theft. This girl is followed around by like a thousand photographers at all times snapping pictures and not one of them has a picture of her bag being stolen? I am thinking this is a big insurance scam Lindsay is trying to put on or the bag contains some explicit video that can never see the light of day. I am sure this will stay hot news for at least two weeks so we will get some answers.

Call of the search! Police have recovered the “stolen” bag of Lindsey Lohan.

“A member of the public contacted us to say they had found it and brought it in,” a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said, on customary condition of anonymity. “We have not yet established what, if anything, is missing.”

Now was this bag really stolen or did Lindsay just leave it someplace or maybe it fell off her luggage cart. Either way Scotland Yard can now go back to working on crimes that actually might to the public some good.

But it was more his fault. When you’re jumping a horse, 99.9 per cent of the time it’s your fault . . . You never take a horse over a fence unless your horse is totally trained to do it, and you have a relationship with the horse. It’s all about trust . . . You have to have your hip bone and heel bone in a straight line up and down. If you don’t, you’ll go over the horse’s head . . . Chris probably wasn’t sitting right in the saddle. That’s the only reason why you fall off.” Reeve died two years ago of complications from being paralyzed from the neck down. His wife, Dana, a non-smoker, died last year of lung cancer.

Marcia Cross, star of ABCs “Desperate Housewives”, is expecting her first child.

The redheaded actress, who plays Bree Van De Kamp on “Desperate Housewives,” expects to give birth to her first child in April, publicist Heidi Slan said. Cross, 44, and her stockbroker husband, Tom Mahoney, married in June. The two dated for more than a year and became engaged in August 2005.

Will Britney have a C-section on September 14th and give the world a new little Federline offspring? If the rumors re true not only is she having a c-section on that date the baby has already been named.

…the baby will be given the name Jailynn, which is a mash-up of the names of Britney’s dad (Jamie), mom (Lynn), and little sister (Jamie Lynn).

Well we all know that now that Suri has been made public the world needs another baby to chase or we all might just go mad.  I am already laying down odds of 2 to 1 that the kid is born with earplugs and can already tell her father to shut the hell up!

Add Paris Hilton’s name to the long list of celebrities that have their head up their ass when it comes to drinking and driving.

Police stopped Hilton because she was “driving erratically,” he said. “The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. A field sobriety test was conducted at scene, and the officers determined she was driving under the influence,” Isabella said, reading a police statement. Hilton was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and released, he said.

I don’t understand why these people can’t find a designated driver or just hire a limo to take you back and forth if you plan on boozing it up.  Of course since she is a rich little socialite she will probably get off with a slap on the wrist instead of  really learning anything from this incident. Maybe she will meet a nice young lady in prison and come out with a One Night in Paris in Prison DVD.

In a shocking revelation that will send waves throughout Hollywood and the world as we know it, David Hasselhoff has stated in his new book that Pamela Anderson was hired for her ample assets.

Washington, Sept 7: She’s best known for her role as lifeguard CJ Parker on the hit TV show ‘Baywatch’, but it seems that it was not Pamela Anderson’s acting abilities that landed her the role, but her breasts. Lead actor David Hasselhoff reveals in his new autobiography “Making Waves” that he had hired the blonde bombshell because she mesmerized the producers with her breasts. “Pamela was wearing a halter top and skirt. When we asked her to read a page of the script, she stood up, stripped off her top and a skirt to reveal a swimsuit underneath. The guys couldn’t take their eyes off her breasts,” Contactmusic quoted him, as stating in the book.

This news has just destroyed the belief that every person has an equal shot to land a job in this country. At least Pam hasn’t made a career off of her breasts and has relied on her amazing acting ability.

Sean “Diddy” Combs announced yesterday that his girlfriend is bigger than expected for a very good reason - twins.

In an “emergency announcement” video posted Monday on his Myspace.com page, Combs (shown outdoors, flanked by the glamorous Porter) broke the news. “Two more Combs. Two! World, you’re in trouble now,” he said, calling himself a “champion.” 

I think what was really nice is that Diddy kept such a wonderful moment so low key and classy by announcing it on mySpace.  I am amazed that the man known for copying every song possible has now copied his own offspring.  We wish the future parents all the best.
