Britney Spears is Back With A Pussycat Dolls Video

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Britney Spears is making a cameo in a Pussycat Dolls video — but isn’t actually interacting with the group on set.

The 26-year-old shot her scenes for the tune “When I Grow Up” at the WB lot in Burbank, CA Wednesday while the Dolls filmed in Hollywood.

“It was carefully planned out,” a set source told Usmagazine.com.

“In the scene shot [Wednesday], Britney is driving in a car,” the set source told Us. “They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic — that is it.

“It is genius and you will love it!” said the source.

“Of course, Britney looks hot and blonde,” the insider added.

The Pussycat Dolls filmed their scene in a blue convertible Chevy Imapla. “They are singing and in traffic — looking hot,” the insider explained.

“It is a very short sequence, but she [Britney] had a lot of fun with it,” the source told Us. “Britney really likes the Dolls’ music and when she saw them on the MTV [Movie Awards], she was totally down to do the video.”

Jessica Simpson Soaks Up Nashville Atmosphere

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Jessica Simpson proved to be both a tourist and an attraction during a visit to Nashville Wednesday.

The singer-actress, 28, surprised fans with an unannounced autograph session at the Block Party kicking off the annual CMA Music Festival.

Although she did not perform, her music played – specifically, her new song “Come on Over,” the leadoff single from her as-yet-untitled first country album, due in the fall.

Later that night – clad in black short-shorts, a white shirt, a fitted black blazer and high heels – Jessica joined dad Joe Simpson and some others at Lime, a hip new Latin fusion restaurant in midtown Nashville.

Absent from the meal was her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who was at practice with his team back in the Lone Star State.

Eventually Simpson joined a few female fans in one of the restaurant’s other booths and sat for photos with even more admirers before heading back to her own table.

Publisher sues Victoria Gotti over book advance

Source: www.celebritymound.com

A book publisher has sued Victoria Gotti for the return of an advance she was paid to write a memoir she never delivered.

HarperCollins Publishers LLC says in court papers filed Thursday in New York that the book was due in 2005. Gotti notified HarperCollins last September she was terminating the contract.

The lawsuit says the daughter of the late “Dapper Don” John Gotti and star of the reality show “Growing Up Gotti” did not return the $70,000 advance.

Literary agent Frank Weiman says his client will return the money when he gets her another deal.

Weiman says Gotti made her book deal with former publishing heavyweight Judith Regan and that Gotti canceled because Regan and other editors his client dealt with left HarperCollins.

Hulk Hogan’s son transferred out of solitary

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Deputies at a west Florida jail have transferred Hulk Hogan’s son out of solitary confinement into a communal cell.

Seventeen-year-old Nick Bollea is now sharing living space with three other juvenile inmates.

He initially was segregated because he is a minor, albeit convicted in adult court. A judge denied a transfer request from his lawyers on Tuesday.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda says housing assignments are routinely reviewed because the jail’s population constantly changes. That created an opportunity to house juveniles together.

Bollea is serving an eight-month sentence after pleading no contest to causing a crash that seriously injured his friend.

Heidi & Spencer have made $3 million in two years

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag may be one of the most controversial couples on television — but they’re laughing all the way to the bank. Since coupling up on The Hills two years ago, the pair have raked in about $3 million from their TV salaries, club appearances, photo shoots and business deals. “We are trying to entertain in every aspect of our lives,” Heidi says. “Reality stars are grasping for their 15 minutes of fame,” notes David Scott Sloan, a private wealth services lawyer who doesn’t work with them. “And it looks like Heidi and Spencer are trying to make the most of their chance.” For Heidi, 21, that means also pursuing a music and acting career. “I plan to win an Oscar,” she says. “I’m very ambitious.” Although the couple haven’t made any money off her singing yet, Spencer, 24, who is also Heidi’s manager, is very optimistic about their financial future. “My hustle is just too crazy,” he says. “I’m trying to take over the world!”

Lindsay and Samantha’s Friendship: ‘It’s a Trust Thing’

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Why does Lindsay Lohan spend so much time with good pal Samantha Ronson?

“Lindsay just feels safe with her,” socialite – and Lohan friend – Cory Kennedy told PEOPLE at Billabong’s 2nd Annual Design for Humanity Event Wednesday night in Hollywood. “I just feel like they have a very loyal and trustworthy relationship, which is really hard to come across in the world that Lindsay’s in. It’s a trust thing.”

The DJ has been Lohan’s constant companion during the past few weeks – they even enjoyed a recent family get-together with Ronson’s mom, Ann Dexter-Jones, and Lohan’s young sister Ali in New York City. The traveling duo also cozied up on Diddy’s yacht during the Cannes Film Festival.

On Wednesday night, Lohan showed up at a G-Star party in Beverly Hills to support Ronson, who was spinning. After spending some together-time in the DJ booth, they headed for Ronson’s next gig at the pre-party for a N.E.R.D. concert. (After Pharrell Williams’s set, the two sat close together on a black leather couch – then made their joint exit around midnight.)

A ‘Genuine’ Friendship
DJ Steve Aoki, a close friend of both Lohan and Ronson, said their bond is easy to understand.

“[Samantha] truly is a friend to her,” he explained. “She’s a very positive influence …. [Lindsay] sees that and sees a genuine, good friendship.”

“I think the most important thing in a relationship is, really, trust,” agreed Kennedy. “I feel like that’s what their relationship thrives on. I love the fact that they’re both really happy.”

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel move in

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Justin Timberlake can no longer call his house a bachelor pad — he’s asked his girlfriend, Jessica Biel, to move in! “Jessica is preparing to live in Justin’s Hollywood Hills home,” an insider tells In Touch. “They’re both really excited.” But the 26-year-old actress is also hanging on to her own Brentwood, Calif., digs. “Jessica’s giving the house to her parents and brother because she doesn’t want to sell it,” the insider adds. It’s a big deal for Justin, 27, who has never taken this relationship step before, but the insider insists that he’s ready. “They’re definitely headed for marriage,” the insider says. “Moving in is just the beginning.” So how does the couple — who have been together since January 2007 — make it work? “They avoid the spotlight as much as possible,” the insider adds. The couple has been apart while Jessica’s been filming in South Carolina. There’s plenty of room for Jess in Justin’s six-bedroom mansion.

GLAAD Says “Thanks” to Jay Leno For Supporting Same Sex Marriage

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Jay Leno is officially back in the good graces of gay rights organization GLAAD after attending the “Vow to Vote” commitment ceremony benefiting Matthew Shepard’s “Erase Hate” campaign in West Hollywood, CA Wednesday.

In April The Tonight Show host, teased Ryan Phillippe for landing his first role as a gay teen on the soap One Life to Live. He also asked Phillippe to
give the camera his “gayest look.”

Leno later apologized for his derogatory remarks in a statement – but it was his appearance Wednesday night that impressed the organization.

“You stood alongside Judy Shepard and T.R. Knight, you spoke about your gay friends and co-workers, and how you’re supportive of their relationships and desire to marry,” Damon Romine, Director of Media Entertainment at GLAAD wrote in an open letter to Leno posted on GLAAD’s web site.

“As you told reporter Greg Hernandez: “‘What’s so funny to me is how people miss out on [realizing] the economic benefits just in terms of catering and flowers and planning. The services that come with it. . . The businesses that cater to [the LGBT community] do very well. So it just seems like common sense. Gas is four bucks a gallon. For me to worry about what Larry and Bob are doing seems sort of ridiculous.’”

Romine continued, “So, thank you, Jay, for lending your voice and showing your support.

When Ellen marries Portia and George Takei marries Brad, you’ll have an opportunity to have them on your couch to show the world that gay couples should have the same legal protections and responsibilities as everyone else. Or you could take a different path and make their ceremonies the subject of a monologue joke. I’m hoping for the former, but you might tell me that there’s room for both. Borrowing a line from you, we’ll “see what happens.”

Romine tells Usmagazine.com, “Straight allies like Jay can be some of the most effective and powerful voices in our struggle for fundamental freedoms.”

LINDSAY LOHAN IMPRESSES MOVIE BOSSES

Source: www.celebritymound.com

LINDSAY LOHAN has impressed the producers of new movie LABOR PAINS with her work ethic – despite earning a reputation as a tardy star on the set of her previous movie GEORGIA RULE.

Lohan infuriated studio chief James G. Robinson with her lateness and partying while shooting the 2007 drama, eventually causing him to write a letter to the star in July 2006 attacking her unprofessionalism.

But according to a producer on upcoming comedy Labor Pains – in which Lohan plays a publishing assistant who pretends to be pregnant in a bid to keep her job – the 21-year-old has been a consummate professional.

Producer Rich Schwarts tells industry publication Variety, “I didn’t know Lindsay before this, but we looked each other in the eye three months ago, and she has done everything I could have asked.”

Shooting on the movie, which also stars Chris Parnell and Cheryl Hines, begins on June 9, 2008 in Burbank, California.

LINDSAY LOHAN SET TO ENDURE LABOR PAINS

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Lindsay Lohan will struggle through the pain of pregnancy on her new comedy Labor Pains, it has been revealed.

The Mean Girls star will play a personal assistant working in a publishing house who concocts an elaborate plan to keep her malevolent boss from giving her the sack.

Due to begin shooting next week, Labor Pains will see the young actress pretending to be pregnant in order to stay in her job.

And while the scheme helps her remain in gainful employment, it also sees Lady Luck working in her favour in other areas, according to Variety.

TV actors such as Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) and Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live) will star alongside Lohan with Lara Shapiro set to direct.

The feature, previously a Capitol Pictures film, had looked set to remain in development hell after Capitol experienced financial problems, only for Nu Image/Millennium Films’ Avi Lerner to step in and help Overnight Productions’ Rick Schwartz set the project in motion.

“I didn’t know Lindsay before this, but we looked each other in the eye three months ago, and she has done everything I could have asked,” said Schwartz, in reference to the actress’ personal problems which have provoked withdrawals from a number of films.

Having recently shot a guest run on Ugly Betty, Lohan added: “It is a very different role for me and I look forward to the challenges it will present, and I love working on comedies.”

Due to Nu Image/Millennium Films having independent status, the film has been granted a waiver by the Screen Actors’ Guild (SAG) to begin shooting even with the threat of an actors’ strike due to ongoing contract negotiations between the SAG and the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Was Alycia Lane Betrayed By Her Co-Anchor Larry Mendte?!

Source: www.celebritymound.com

WAS dethroned Philadelphia newsgal Alycia Lane the target of a diabolical plot by her former co-anchor to destroy her career?

That bizarre scenario seems possible, say pals of the dark-haired beauty. It’s popped up now that Emmy-winner Larry Mendte of CBS affiliate KYW-TV has been booted off the air because of an FBI probe. Last month, the feds seized Mendte’s computer to determine if he was the person who hacked into Lane’s private e-mail hundreds of times, then anonymously dished gossip to Page Six and Philadelphia media via an untraceable e-mail account, sources told us.

“Larry has been jealous of Alycia’s success since she brought the ratings from third place to first. She got all the credit and his ego couldn’t handle it,” a TV insider said. “Larry worked hard to take Alycia down . . . Now he’ll get what he deserves. Sure, this is a competitive industry filled with big egos, but [this] is downright creepy.”

In 2006, photos of Lane dancing and holding hands with Monaco’s Prince Albert at a party were leaked. A year later, an e-mail surfaced that was sent to Lane by the wife of NFL anchor Rich Eisen, ripping her for sending her husband photos of Lane in a bikini. Then came word of a romance between Lane and WCBS-TV anchor Chris Wragge.

CBS cited the gossip as one reason for firing Lane in January after she was charged with hitting a female NYPD cop in Chelsea. The case was later dismissed.

The FBI was called in after a KYW staffer noticed Lane’s e-mails on a computer that Mendte had access to. Mendte’s lawyer, Michael Schwartz, said he was “cooperating fully” and expected to resume his career.

Mendte, who could face jail if charged and convicted of unlawfully accessing e-mail, is wed to Dawn Stensland, a co-anchor at Philly’s Fox 29. A source said: “She’s an older version of Alycia, which I find a little freaky.”

Daughter of Jerry Rice QUI ‘Revs it Up’ with David Banner!

Source: www.celebritymound.com

New R&B sensation Qui and daughter of former NFL player Jerry Rice, is ready to make her musical debut to the world. Her first single “Rev It Up” features David Banner. Qui’s album LUV ‘N LIFE is slated for release this summer!

AUDIO for “Rev It Up” feat David Banner:
http://streaming.thinktankmktg.com/audio/qui-rev_it_up.wma

Possessing talent is one thing. But equal measures of determination and focus are also required to succeed in today’s competitive music arena. Singer/songwriter/musician Jacqui “Qui” Rice is one of those talented few.

While maintaining a 4.0 average at Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown University, majoring in government and Spanish, with a focus on international relations, the college junior found time to pursue her long-held passion. Slated for a late summer release is Qui’s (pronounced “Kwee”) debut album, LUV ‘N LIFE (JJR Entertainment). The mix of mid-tempo, R&B/pop and ballads calls to mind such influences as Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson and Ciara. But LUV ‘N LIFE is definitely Qui’s show.

At a time when consumers are looking for more substantial melodies and lyrics, Qui’s music definitely fits the taste of today’s audience.

Born in Greenville, Mississippi and raised in Atherton, CA, Qui isn’t one of those paint-by-numbers artists who typify most contemporary music. Under the guidance of co-writer Francesca “Francii” Richard, and a team of talented production newcomers, Qui’s vocal talent, combined with her ability for writing relatable lyrics, shines against a backdrop of hypnotic grooves with across-the-board appeal.

On LUV ‘N LIFE, Qui chronicles the fun, yet scary rollercoaster ride, everyone experiences when it comes to relationships and love as well as the self-awareness that rises from this emotional journey. The siren intro and rousing beat of the opening track, “On the Line,” is infused with the exhilarating rush that happens when you meet “that someone” for the first time. Thrilled yet cautious, Qui explores her newfound feelings on the mid-tempo groove “Personal” and the poignant “Stay” (“You flipped the scenario/Every fear that I had/had to let it go).

Qui jumps into funky mode on the first single from her debut, the percolating dance joint “Rev It Up”. Her sultry vocals provide the perfect juxtaposition to the track’s featured guest, raspy-voiced, Mississippi-bred rapper David Banner.

Qui taps into her growing self-awareness as a young woman on the inspirational anthem “Girl Child.” Underscoring her subtly powerful vocal is a harmonizing chorus of girl-child voices backing Qui on the compelling hook (It’s hard being a lady when this world is crazy/Still I know it’s a blessing I was born a girl child). Love’s heartbreak is addressed on the moving ballad “It Was U,” while Qui’s awakening “a-ha” moment is expressed via the rock-infused “Solo.”

While recording LUV ‘N LIFE, Qui says her goal was to keep it “funky, fun and positive. You pretty much groove to every song on here.”

Emotion was a key factor as well. “It’s important to make people feel what you’re singing,” adds the artist whose musical influences also encompass pop/rock (John Mayer, Maroon 5), country (Johnny Cash, Shania Twain, rap (Snoop Dogg and David Banner) and gospel (Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin).

“Lyrics really inspire me,” adds Qui. “I was always writing random lyrics and poems in school in my assignment books. Finally getting to see these songs come to life is exciting.”

Listening to her paternal grandmother sing in church during summers spent in Mississippi as well as to her parents’ diverse oldies collection, which included Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Billie Holiday and Elvis, Qui began playing piano at the age of five. Then at the age of 10, she declared her intent to become a singer. That desire was put to the test at age 11 when Qui performed the national anthem before 62,000 football fans at a San Francisco 49ers game.

“Dancing, music and singing always went hand in hand for me,” she says. “I found I love performing in front of crowds. It’s an adrenaline thing.”

Her first formal introduction into the music industry occurred at 15 when Qui joined a teen quartet called Sorella (Italian for sister). Performing up and down the California coast during the summer at showcases and festivals in Florida and Texas, the multi-ethnic pop group signed with JJR Entertainment,an independent label established by Qui’s mother. After four years, the group disbanded.

Qui comes by her competitive drive and fortitude naturally. Her father is legendary NFL Wide Receiver and Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, who put himself through a different kind of intense pace while a contestant on “Dancing With The Stars. Mother Jacqueline is a former pre-med student who manages the day-to-day operations of JJRE. “My Mom taught me how to multi-task,” says Qui. “She took us to school, ran the household and made sure my brother, sister and I had plenty of extra-curricular activities. She and my Dad taught us to dream.”

Though her career is a family affair, Qui is quick to proclaim she wants to forge her own identity and not trade on her parents’ notoriety. “My lifestyle doesn’t depend on my Dad or Mom’s success,” she adds. “I want to make a first impression based on who I am alone.”

In spring, 2008, Qui became the first African American to be crowned Queen of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, an achievement that Qui is quite proud of. Now in its 81st year, the festival is an annual tradition in Winchester, Virginia, (West of Washington, D.C.) that attracts more than 250,000 people.

A college girl at heart, she loves old movies, cupcakes, pizza and barbecued chicken and shares a house with five other students. Qui admits its difficult balancing her studies and a singing career. However, her “can-do” spirit remains just as strong as her zeal for LUV ‘N LIFE and the promise it holds. “It’s been difficult, but somehow you make it work and it’s worth it,’ she notes. “Music is where my heart is.”
