Tom Cruise Has Been Replaced By Angelina Jolie

Source: www.celebritymound.com

GONE are the days of Tom Cruise as action hero. The Scientologist - once the leading man in movies like “Top Gun,” “Days of Thunder” and “The Last Samurai” - has been replaced by Angelina Jolie as the star of Columbia Pictures’ spy thriller “Edwin A. Salt,” which will now need a new title, Variety reports.

And at 46, Cruise is thought to be too old and too expensive to star in the next “Mission Impossible” sequel. “Cruise is begging for ‘MI4,’ but Paramount wants a younger, cheaper guy,” a source told Page Six. “He had a tantrum and ran out of the meeting.”

So Cruise is turning to comedy to revive his career. He plays a fat, bald studio executive in “Tropic Thunder.” [See Lou Lumenick’s review on Page 61.] Co-star Ben Stiller told Elle that Cruise was gung-ho to join the cast: “Tom said, ‘I want to play the studio guy. I want to dance, and I want to have big hands.’ Tom was doing this little dance, and I was like, ‘This is insane. If this thing was on YouTube, it would be all over the world.’ ”

Cruise is also said to be attached to “Food Fight,” a comedy about a snooty New York chef forced to cook at a school cafeteria.

After his falling-out with Paramount boss Sumner Redstone two years ago, Cruise and his producing partner, Paula Wagner, took over United Artists, which bombed with the anti-war “Lions for Lambs.” UA’s “Valkyrie” - a $100 million drama about the attempted assassination of Adolf Hitler - is also said to be a turkey, having been postponed twice and now due out in February.

“It’s assumed the UA deal with Cruise and Wagner will be coming to an end,” said our source. “They haven’t greenlit a picture other than ‘Valkyrie’ and ‘Lions for Lambs.’ ”

UA production chief Jeff Kleeman has left after only 11 months, on the heels of marketing/publicity chief Dennis Rice, who left in July. UA is down to a skeleton crew and no rep could be reached.

It was rumored that People and Hello! Magazine bought the rights for around $10-$15 million. A source told AP that the final number was $14 million. The cash will go to a foundation created by Brad and Angelina to help all the little chitlin’s around the world.

14 millions dollars! Those babies had better be doing the jig in those pictures to make them worth that much! Pictures of newborns are fucking boring! They can’t even open their eyes!

Angelina’s overwhelmed and exhausted

Source: www.celebritymound.com

The arrival of twins is enough to wear out any parent, and Angelina Jolie is no exception. While friends of the ever-expanding family told In Touch magazine that Brad Pitt is a “punch-drunk, happy-tired” new dad, the matriarch of the Jolie-Pitt clan is said to be completely overwhelmed.

“(The family’s French home is) frantic and messy,” a pal revealed. “There are toys and clothes strewn in practically every room.”

But it’s not the clutter that’s getting to Angie. The friend claims that “feeding the twins on demand” is zapping the actress’s energy and taxing her emotions.

“Angie is tired all the time,” another insider told In Touch. “Knox wakes up, and (she) will spend an hour feeding and then changing him, and then Viv wakes up as Knox is going to sleep. Then, by the time Angelina has fed and changed Viv, she has about 10 minutes to sleep before it all starts over again.”

Not having enough time to spend with her other children disappoints the “Wanted” star, but a source says Angelina knows the situation will ease once the twins are on a schedule. Besides, the source added, she’s ecstatic and “she wouldn’t trade being a mother for anything else in the world.”

No easy delivery for Jolie-Pitt baby photos

Source: www.celebritymound.com

It’s probably safe to say that no twins on the planet have ever showed their faces in as dramatic a fashion as Vivienne and Knox Jolie-Pitt. The twins, born on July 12 in France, made their American photo debut on People.com on Sunday, but it took weeks of negotiating and a very fat check before that moment finally came.

According to sources close to the photo exclusive, the negotiations were more difficult than those for previous Jolie-Pitt children.

“OK! (Magazine) was in a much better position than ever before to be in the game,” said the source. The source confirms that the $15 million range reported was not off base, figuring, “Price per twin, you’re looking at about $7 million each.”

Another source claims that reports the couple turned down a much higher offer from OK! and accepted less money from People are false. “That’s a lie. Negotiating ended and People won. There was no $20 million offer.”

While People has the North American rights to the twins’ photos, Hello magazine was part of the deal, and its cover calls the photos a “world exclusive.” According to the Associated Press, the money received by the actors is being donated to a foundation created by Pitt and Jolie that largely focuses on helping children worldwide.

Any celebrity baby-photo deal has strings attached, and this case is no different. “There wasn’t going to be any big sit-down with the entire family for this one,” says the source. “There were going to be quotes given for use, but no true interview.” When it’s pointed out that the People.com text does in fact read like an interview, the source says, “Things can always change at the last minute.”

Reportedly, one condition of the photo deal was that the victorious magazine would have to agree to no longer refer to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as “Brangelina.”

“It’s funny to think they actually took a cue from Jennifer Lopez, who was insisting on (not being called J.Lo),” says the source. “Stranger things have happened.”

Angelina Jolie’s Dad: “She Wasn’t the Kind That Played With Dolls”

Angelina Jolie’s estranged father is surprised she became the mother of six young children.

“You know she wasn’t the kind that played with dolls and then all of the sudden she has all of these children,” actor Jon Voight, 69, said on Fox & Friends Thursday on the Fox News Channel.

“She loves kids though,” he added. “She’s very playful. It’s wonderful.”

Brangelina bodyguards take on he paps

Source: www.celebridiot.com

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt relocated to France to have their new twins for one big reason. French law is very serious when it comes to protecting celebs against overly aggressive paparazzi.   Well it seems with million of potential dollars out there for pictures of the new twins has made some photogs willing to take some risks.  Brangelina’s bodyguards found two camouflaged paparazzi hiding on the grounds of their estate and a scuffle broke out.

“One can imagine that if you discover someone in your garden who is taking your photo then you’re not necessarily going to politely show them the way out,” she said.

Police took everyone downtown to the nearby village of Carces and took statements. A judge will rule on whether the legal complaints should be pursued further, she said.
CNN

Now I don’t agree with the fact that the paparazzi trespassed onto the grounds of the estate to try and snap pictures, but the fact that celebrities, including Pitt-Jolie, have sold their baby pictures for millions of dollars helps you to understand why they did it.  Celebrities will complain about privacy and not wanting their children exploited…unless of course a magazine want to pay $10 million and after that feel free to snap away.

BRAD PITT THREATENS LEGAL ACTION OVER FAMILY PHOTOS

Source: www.celebritymound.com

BRAD PITT is threatening legal action against any publication which prints photos of his family at home in France.

The move comes after paparazzi photos of the movie star and his family relaxing at their summer retreat hit the internet earlier this week, and Pitt learned the bosses of the agency behind the shots were offering the images to tabloids.

Pitt’s lawyer, Yael Holtkamp, has served the agency with a cease and desist order, and claims the photos were “surreptitiously” taken by photographers with “highly powerful telephoto lenses”.

The shots feature Pitt with new mum Angelina Jolie, his parents and their children playing in the garden of their rented French chateau.

Pitt and Jolie chose to spend the summer at Chateau Miraval in Provence because of the privacy and exclusivity the wine resort offered.

Holtkamp insists the publication of the photos violates the family’s privacy rights.

The paparazzi agency behind the photos has already agreed to stop selling them and the images have been removed from its website.

Jolie and twins slip out of hospital in Nice

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Angelina Jolie has left the building. Oh, and so have the twins. Before dawn Saturday, the Hollywood superstar and her newborn twins left the French Riviera hospital where she gave birth a week ago, the hospital said in a statement.

“The mother and her babies are doing very well,” reported the Fondation Lenval hospital, located in the southern Mediterranean city of Nice.

Jolie slipped out at 4 a.m. Saturday with the twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, deftly evading most of the paparazzi who have followed the family for months in southern France, ever since Jolie arrived for the Cannes film festival in May. It was not immediately clear if the twins’ father, actor Brad Pitt, was with them.

AP Television cameras outside the hospital filmed a large white van with tinted windows leaving one of the hospital’s back entrances at that time. No other vehicles left the hospital for the next several hours.

Jolie, 33, checked into the hospital on July 2 and delivered the babies by Cesarian section ten days later. Knox Leon weighed 5.03 pounds and the Vivienne Marcheline 5 pounds.

Jolie’s obstetrician, Dr. Michel Sussmann, told reporters after the birth that the 44-year-old Pitt was at Jolie’s side during the delivery, which he said had been pushed up from its originally planned date “for medical reasons” so the babies could be born “in the best conditions.”

The Jolie-Pitt clan had rented four rooms on the fifth floor of the maternity ward of the Lenval hospital, appropriately located on Nice’s beach-front California Avenue. The hospital had treated the mirrored blue windows of Jolie’s room, which looked out the Mediterranean, with a special material that blocked telephoto lenses from peering in.

Jolie managed to check into the hospital unobserved, reportedly arriving by helicopter on the hospital’s rooftop helipad. That fueled rumors she would also leave the clinic by helicopter,

In its statement, the Fondation Lenval thanked the Jolie-Pitts for choosing its hospital. It also thanked the hospital staff “for the attention and care they paid to the family” and the “journalists around the hospital who did their best to respect their privacy.”

The Nice-Matin newspaper has reported that an unnamed U.S. publication has paid $11 million for exclusive rights to the first photos of the Jolie-Pitt twins and that the proceeds will go to charity.

Jolie and Pitt have four other children - Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2. Before Jolie checked into the hospital in Nice, the family set up a household in Correns, 60 miles away.

Jolie’s latest film, the thriller “Wanted” with James McAvoy, has racked up $112 million in its first three weeks in the United States. The action flick - about a secret society of assassins stars Jolie as a gun-toting sexpot - opened last week in France.

The new mother also stars in director Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling,” a 1930s-era drama about a kidnapping that premiered at Cannes this year. Jolie also did voiceovers for the animated comedy “Kung Fu Panda,” which has brought in over $200 million this summer in U.S. ticket sales alone.

Angelina Staying Put for Now

Source: www.celebritymound.com

The twins’ arrival came earlier than expected. Angelina Jolie’s departure won’t be following suit.

A spokeswoman for Lenval hospital, where the Jolie-Pitt brood welcomed new additions Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, told E! News that the new mother remains in the maternity ward at the hospital and will not, per the latest round of speculation, be checking out today.

“After a C-section, the normal stay for a mother in the Lenval hospital is between eight and 10 days,” Nadine Bauer said.

When asked directly if Jolie was due for discharge later today, Bauer said, “No.”

“And I’m not sure what day she will be leaving. Only when Dr. Sussmann is completely satisfied that she is in good health and fully recovered from the C-section.”

Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed the twins last Saturday, meaning while Jolie isn’t packing her bags just yet, she could theoretically be released from the hospital as early as this weekend—a possibility that’s not lost on the increasing scrum of media assembled outside the facility.

But a hospital source told E! News that standard procedure may not be the only reason Jolie is being kept under Sussmann’s watch, claiming that the good doctor is hoping to keep Jolie in the hospital until she is fully recovered as she will likely take on too many responsibilities—and not enough bed rest—if left to her own devices.

“Angelina has four young and lively children at home, and he suspects the temptation to get up out of bed and play with them will overwhelm her,” the source said.

“He knows how much she misses the other children, but he feels that she will benefit from a few extra days’ rest. They’re being very well cared for.”
And not just by Pitt.

Earlier this morning, Jolie’s brother, James Haven, paid a visit to his sister, leaving around 10 local time.

Why Angelina Jolie Named Her Twins Knox and Vivienne

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt “have proven once again that they are the leaders in original baby-naming, even by Hollywood standards,” baby name expert Pamela Redmond Satran, coauthor of Cool Names and The Baby Name Bible, tells Usmagazine.com.

The actress, 33, gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline at the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France on Saturday night.

“Vivienne is the French version of the ancient Latin name that means ‘alive,’” Satran explains. A common English variation is Vivian, which was the name of Julia Roberts’ character in Pretty Woman.

Except for Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter Vivienne, the name “has not been on the fashion scope in the U.S.,” Satran adds.

Jolie and Pitt’s choice of Knox will boost its popularity among new parents, Satran predicts, “the same way they have with all their other children’s names.”

Knox – Pitt’s grandfather’s middle name – also “matches” big brothers Maddox and Pax as a name that ends in X, Satran points out.

As for middle names, Marcheline was the name of Jolie’s mother, who died of cancer last year, while Leon is Jolie’s great-great grandfather’s name.

Satran gives Jolie and Pitt credit for their name choices.

“I applaud Brad and Angelina for being truly creative in a way that many other parents – celebrities and the rest of us – claim they want to be but aren’t brave or individualistic enough to really achieve,” she says.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s baby twinlets have arrived safe and well on the glamorous French Riviera.
Proud daddy Brad Pitt and mom Angelina Jolie were emotional during the birth of their twins - a boy and a girl - and all are doing marvelously well. Newborns Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline were born 60 seconds apart Saturday evening.

Jolie’s obstetrician, Dr. Michel Sussmann, said Pitt, 44, was at Jolie’s side during the delivery, looking on as the doctor performed a Caesarean section to deliver Knox, weighing in at slightly over 5 pounds, and Vivienne, who weighed 5 pounds.

The first pictures of these holy children will probably fetch about a trillion doll-hairs. They’d better be cute.

Jolie Doctor: Angelina “Was Speaking and Laughing” During Cesarean Section

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt make a great team in the delivery room!

During the birth of their twins, the couple “were talking, they were together,” Jolie’s doctor, Michel Sussmann said Sunday afternoon in a press conference on the steps of the Lenval Hospital on the French Riviera.

“It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy,” said Sussmann who delivered the babies via Cesarian section Saturday night at the Lenval Hospital.

When it came time to cut the babies’ umbilical cords, Pitt was up to the task. “He was my assistant!” Sussmann joked.

“He was perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional.”

As for when the newborns will leave the hospital, “I don’t know,” the Sussmann said. “She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”

Sussman continued, “the babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine.”

Jolie, 33, gave birth via a Cesarian section at the Lenval Hospital on the French Riviera on Saturday night, the French newspaper Nice-Matin first reported.

“Saturday was a great day for all,” Dr. Michael Sussman told Usmagazine.com. “The babies are good, as is Angelina.”

Knox weighed 5.03 pounds and Vivienne weighed 5 pounds, Sussmann adds.

Reps for Jolie and Pitt did not confirm the report.

Earlier in the day, a rep for the hospital denied an online rumor that Jolie gave birth.

Last week, Sussmann held a press conference to let reporters know the twins were due “in the weeks to come.

“Everything is normal,” Sussmann said. “Everything is going well.”

Pitt was photographed on Tuesday at the hospital. He was there with son Pax, 4.

Jolie previously received visits from Maddox, 6, as well as daughters Shiloh, 2, and Zahara, 3.

The actress checked into the hospital at the end of June via helicopter, Nice-Matin reported at the time.

Jolie is staying on the hospital’s fifth floor which features an “unobstructed view” over the Bay of Angels, the paper reported. She reserved four rooms on the maternity ward, with a bodyguard keeping watch, according to the report.

The twins are the 5th and 6th kids in the Jolie-Pitt family, joining Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2.

Mayor Makes Jolie-Pitt Births Official

Source: www.celebritymound.com

They’re here, officially: On Sunday, Mayor Christian Estrosi of Nice, France, presented one of the birth certificates of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins on the steps of Nice’s Fondation Lenval hospital, where son Knox Leon and daughter Vivienne Marcheline were born Saturday.

The typed certificate revealed that Knox was born at 6:27 p.m. on July 12. Sister Vivienne came within a minute of that time, Dr. Michel Sussmann tells PEOPLE.

The document also showed the Mayor’s signature, as well as Pitt’s initials, the letters WBP representing his full name, William Bradley Pitt.

The mayor entered the hospital at 3:24 p.m. to oversee the signing, telling PEOPLE, “It’s a pride to Nice and all its citizens.”

Knox is the 3,702 registered birth certificate in Nice for 2008.

In welcoming the twins, Estrosi told reporters, “On behalf of the inhabitants of Nice, I congratulate the happy parents, the most famous couple of the world who have chosen our city for this happy event.”

Earlier in the afternoon, a large bouquet of white roses and lilies for Jolie were delivered.

Estrosi added: “I also congratulate the four brothers and sister of the newborns who are [history won’t forget it] real ‘Niçois’ (’citizens of Nice’).”

Jolie’s Doctor: Brad Was ‘Very Emotional’ at Birth

Source: www.celebritymound.com

When the moment finally came to welcome their newborn twins into the world, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were as calm as could be.

During the labor and delivery, the couple “were talking, they were together,” Dr. Michel Sussmann told reporters outside Fondation Lenval Hospital in Nice, France, where twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon were born on Saturday. “It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy.”

Pitt never left Jolie’s side – “he was my assistant!” Sussmann said jokingly – and even cut the babies’ umbilical cords.

“He was … perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional,” said Sussmann.

Asked whether the birth had been a textbook delivery, Sussmann replied, “absolutely no problems.”

When will Jolie and the babies leave the hospital? “I don’t know,” he said. “She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”

He added: “The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine.”

The Jolie-Pitts Welcome a Son & Daughter

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Brad Pitt was at Angelina Jolie’s side as she gave birth to a son and daughter Saturday at the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France, PEOPLE has confirmed.

“The babies are doing well. The operation went just perfectly,” Dr. Michel Sussmann told PEOPLE Sunday. “Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well.”

Sussmann confirmed the Nice-Matin newspaper report that Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Cesarean section on Saturday night. Knox weighed 5.03 lbs, and Vivienne 5 lbs.

The twins are the fifth and sixth children for Jolie, 33, and partner Brad Pitt, 44, who are already parents to Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.

“The mother and father are very, very happy,” Sussmann told PEOPLE.

The doctor told the Associated Press that the Cesarean was moved forward “for medical reasons” so that the babies could be born “in the best conditions.” He also said Jolie is expected to stay in the hospital for a few days.

On July 1, Jolie checked in to the Fondation Lenval hospital to await the births. The family has been living in the south of France since this spring.

Jolie recently told Entertainment Weekly that she was surprised – but not daunted – when she learned she was having twins. “It did shock us, and we jumped to six [children] quickly,” she said. “But we like a challenge.”

Jane Seymour has advice on twins for Angelina

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Though she’s in the hospital ready to give birth any day (or week) now, Angelina Jolie’s still getting last-minute pregnancy advice.

The latest bit of unsolicited wisdom comes from fellow celeb Jane Seymour. The veteran actress, who’s also a veteran of twin births, told OK! magazine Angie needs to pack on the pounds.

“My advice to (Angelina) is to put some weight on,” the mother of four said. “I think she needs to keep putting on weight so she can feed those babies. I don’t think she should think twice. She hasn’t put on enough weight.”

Jane’s butting in because she’s been there before. The “Dr. Quinn” star gave birth to her own matching pair of babies in 1995, but complications almost cost the actress her life.

“I nearly died having the twins,” she confessed. “I had preeclampsia, which is toxemia, and I had to have an emergency C-section and I almost lost my life. So my advice to (Angelina) is to listen to your doctors and if they say bed rest and they say blood-pressure cuff every hour and they say whatever medication they say, you should take it very seriously.”

Angelina Jolie Hospital Details: Arrived By Helicopter, Doctor Says All Is Well

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Are the Brangelina twins boys or girls? Will they be delivered naturally or by Caesarean?

Angelina Jolie’s obstetrician, Michel Sussmann, declined to answer several burning questions about the highly anticipated birth to Hollywood’s hottest couple, but he did make one thing clear during a five-minute news conference Wednesday: “She is a patient like any other. And she’s very simple. I have a lot of respect for her.”

Apparently unaware that the stars are unmarried, the doctor said: “Mrs. Angelina Jolie and her husband, Mr. Brad Pitt, told me to tell you that she is doing absolutely fine.”

He said her hospitalization “was scheduled for a long time.”

“This is not an emergency situation,” he added. “Her hospitalization at this stage in her pregnancy is totally normal for a patient who had a Caesarean (section) during her first pregnancy.”

Her stay at the seaside hospital here could be a relatively long one. The doctor said she would remain in the hospital until the babies are delivered and that could be “in the weeks to come.”

“I can’t give you a date,” he said.

French medical secrecy laws are very strict. While Sussmann said that the couple had given him the OK to give out a few details about the pregnancy, he did not disclose either the due date or exactly how far along Jolie’s pregnancy is.

Though the lenses of the world’s paparazzi have been trained on maternity wards across the French Riviera in recent weeks, Jolie managed to slip unobserved Sunday into the seafront Lenval hospital, reportedly arriving by helicopter on the hospital’s rooftop helipad.

Pitt has been seen coming and going since Jolie’s hospitalization became public. On Wednesday afternoon, he entered a side door with the couple’s two daughters in tow, 3-year-old Zahara and 2-year-old Shiloh.

Attention focused on southern France after the couple and their four children _ including 6-year-old Maddox and 4-year-old Pax _ took up residence in Correns, about 60 miles from Nice. The town’s mayor confirmed that the couple had moved into the Miraval Estate villa, and a helicopter has been spotted taking off and landing there.

Set among palm trees, the boxy white Lenval hospital with mirrored blue windows looks out over the sea. During her stay, Jolie can enjoy views of the city’s famed Promenade Anglais, sunbathers reclining on the rocky shores and swimmers dipping into the Mediterranean.

Sussmann said four rooms had been reserved for the couple and a pair of security guards _ debunking rumors that they had taken over the entire fifth floor.

“I find it legitimate that she wants to protect her privacy. She is a pregnant woman,” he said.

The hospital is doing the utmost to protect the privacy of the couple _ who for the birth of their first child went to Namibia to evade attention.

The media briefing to a gaggle of journalists jostling for position was held across the street from the hospital. And as of Tuesday, a sign hangs on the visitor’s desk inside the lobby: “Journalists are forbidden to enter the premises, except with the authorization of the administration.”

Brangelina Babies Almost Out!

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Independence Day could be coming early for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s latest spawn.

The Oscar-winning actress checked into a French hospital about 10 p.m. Monday to deliver her twins.

“Angelina was admitted last night and is very happy and in excellent health. Everything’s going very well,” Nadine Bauer, spokeswoman for the Lenval hospital in Nice, tells E! News.

“This is something she had planned with her doctor for the end of her pregnancy for some time. She had been advised it would be a good idea to rest during the final days and it has been booked for a while now,” says Bauer.

“There was no medical emergency that was the reason for her being admitted—it’s standard procedure,” Bauer explains.

Jolie is expected to remain in the $500-per-night private room (with a sea view, of course) until after her twins are born.

“It’s lovely, and the nurses pay attention to your every need,” Lucie Coleman, a Nice resident who recently gave birth to twins at the hospital, tells E! News. “The rooms are lovely and airy, with views out over the sea, and they have televisions and private bathrooms.”

And Jolie’s treatment while in the hospital will, by the sound of it, be top-of-the-line.

“The food menus are healthy—things like chicken with asparagus and pasta and fresh fruit—and she’ll be delivered her meals three times a day in bed. And if she feels like a snack or drink at 3 a.m., they’ll get it for her,” adds Coleman.

“Going in early before a birth with twins is very common in France, as the final weeks are so hard going.”

There was no immediate comment from the couple’s reps.

Confirmation of Jolie’s admittance came after France’s Closer tabloid jumped the gun earlier this morning, announcing that Jolie had already given birth. The publication has since retracted the report, claiming Jolie instead is biding her time in the hospital and not expected to give birth until later this week.
The twins will be kids Nos. 5 and 6 for Jolie, 33, and Pitt, 44, joining siblings Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.

Angelina Jolie goes into French hospital for birth of twins

Brangelina’s twins aren’t here yet, but the big day is drawing closer. The seafront Lenval hospital in Nice in the south of France said Tuesday that Angelina Jolie had checked in at its Santa Maria maternity clinic to be kept under doctors’ surveillance and get some rest before she gives birth.

“There’s no urgency. It’s been planned for a long time,” said Nadine Bauer, a hospital spokeswoman. “She’s very well. Everything is fine.”

“She is not on the verge of giving birth, not at all,” she said. “It’s not for right away.”

The 33-year-old actress will almost certainly remain in the hospital until she gives birth, Bauer said. She said Jolie was admitted recently but would not say exactly when.

Jolie has said the babies are due in August, but twins are often born early. She and her partner, Brad Pitt, have four children: Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.

The Brangelina clan has been settling into a new home in the south of France. They recently moved into the Miraval Estate villa in the French hamlet of Correns, in the Provence region. The town’s mayor has said the couple have moved in, and a helicopter has been spotted taking off and landing at the site.

Correns is about 60 miles from Nice, a resort on the Mediterranean. Bauer said the hospital faces the sea, is “very modern” and specializes in caring for children.

The hospital is named after Baron de Lenval, who in 1884 donated part of his fortune to start the facility, in memory of his only son, who died in Nice at age 11, the hospital’s Web site says. It says the hospital was rebuilt in the 1990s. Photos show a boxy-looking building with a white exterior and mirrored blue windows set among palm trees.

The hospital’s address is fitting for the American couple: It’s on Nice’s California Avenue.

There has been speculation in the world media that Angelina Jolie already had her babies, but just four days ago on June 22, an In Touch Weekly photographer got a rare shot of Angelina still heavily pregnant, taking a break from bed rest. These photos capture the actress hanging out with children Shiloh and Zahara outside Chateau Miraval — the home she, Brad Pitt and the kids are staying at in the south of France. While her official due date is in August, insiders tell In Touch that she will deliver around July 15.

Jolie-Pitt Foundation donates $1 mil to Iraqi kids

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s love for children is by no means limited to their own: The couple has donated $1 million to help kids affected by the war in Iraq, the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict announced Wednesday.

The organization will distribute the donation, made through the couple’s Jolie-Pitt Foundation, to four organizations working on behalf of children who have lost parents, homes and schools in Iraq. Children in the U.S. who have lost parents in the conflict will also benefit.

“These educational support programs for children of conflict are the best way to help them heal,” said Jolie in a written statement from Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which she co-chairs.

“We hope to encourage others to give to these great organizations,” Pitt added in the statement.

The money will be divided between the Armed Services YMCA Operation Hero Program, which provides military children with counseling and educational support; Women for Women International, which will provide books, school supplies and other basic necessities to Iraqi women and children; the International Rescue Committee, which will repair three schools and offer classes for more than 2,500 students; and NineMillion.org, which will give school uniforms and learning materials to more than 2,000 displaced Iraqi kids.

Last year, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation gave more than $300,000 to support the International Rescue Committee’s relief program for Darfur refugees.

Jolie, who’s expecting twins, has said the babies are due in August. She and Pitt have four children: Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.
