Why bother reading up on the candidates, watching hours and hours of boring political coverage, or sit through long-winded debates between Barack Obama and John McCain? There’s a better way to figure out who should and could win the Presidential election.
Oddsmakers. There’s no one more qualified at picking winners then the people who do it for a living!! I even found a site where you can bet on the Presidential Election!! They even have constantly updated election odds depending on who’s more popular at the moment.

Barack Obama just another Britney Spears or Paris Hilton?
Not John McCain’s best shot, says the Democrat’s camp after the Republican likened him to the two celebrities in a new commercial.
“On a day when major news organizations across the country are taking Sen. McCain to task for a steady stream of false, negative attacks, his campaign has launched yet another,” says Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor. “Or, as some might say, ‘Oops! He did it again.’”
Counter’s McCain campaign strategist Steve Schmidt: “It’s beyond dispute that [Obama] has become the biggest celebrity in the world. But do the American people really want to elect the biggest celebrity in the world?”
In the ad, images of Spears, Hilton and Obama appear on the screen as a voiceover says, “He’s the biggest celebrity in the world. But is he ready to lead?”
McCain’s campaign manager says they chose to include Spears and Hilton in the ad because the women’s names came up second and third in a search for the top three international celebrities in the world.
Spears’ spokesman had no comment, while Hilton’s rep could not be reached.

New Yorker Magazine is coming under fire for their July 21, 2008 cover featuring a cartoon of Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. The cover depicts the pair in the Oval Office fist bumping while an American flag burns and a picture of Osama bin Laden hangs on the wall. The New Yorker is going for a satirical representation of some of the views conservatives have against him. What are your feeling about the cover? Has the New Yorker over stepped any bounds?

Rev. Jesse Jackson was taking part in a Fox News interview on Sunday when he was talking to another interviewee not realizing that a mic was turned on. Jackon’s comments about Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama were picked up and they were not pleasant.
“See, Barack’s been talking down to black people. … I want to cut his nuts off.”
Jackson has of course taken back the remarks and said he was sorry for them. The fact is he made them and the only reason he is sorry is because he got caught. Now there is talk that Jackson is jealous of Obama and the success he is having running for the White House. Watch Jackson make his questionable comments here.

Well it’s Friday and I think we need to do some talking about the political race out there for President. Barack Obama is currently involved in a bit of a controversy because his preacher, Jeremiah Wright, has said some interesting things during his sermons. I won’t pass judgment one way or the other, but I am curious to know what your feeling are about this video.

In the new issue of Us Weekly, presidential candidate Barack Obama invited news director Lara Cohen to join his campaign for a day. He described some of his best Just Like Us moments, and took our Presidential Pop Quiz (where he revealed that his daughters think Britney and Paris are “yuck”).
Some excepts from the Us interview:
How familiar are you with Us Weekly?
My wife reads it.
Do your daughters Sasha and Malia ever ask about Britney Spears?
Actually, yeah. But they’re very sensible. They’re pretty down on Britney and Paris and all of that. They think that’s very “yuck.” They’re way more into Hannah Montana and Beyonce. They got to go backstage and meet Beyonce and they just love her to death.
Your supporters include Oprah Winfrey. Ever been starstruck?
I don’t really get starstruck. Everyone I’ve met has been very nice and friendly, like Kal Penn. During the writers’ strike, he was like a staffer! And Scarlett Johansson has been traveling a lot. George Clooney is a good friend. He and I worked on Darfur issues together. I’m always impressed by people who do their homework… and use their celebrity to advocate for issues. George does that just about as well as anyone I know.
So, boxers or briefs? Bill Clinton said he wore boxers in a 1992 interview with MTV.
I don’t answer those humiliating questions. But whichever one it is, I look good in ‘em!

A picture of Barack Obama dressed in traditional Muslim attire as a goodwill gesture during a 2006 overseas trip. The Obama camp is claiming Clinton is using the image in a last ditch effort to win back some support that she has clearly lost in the last few weeks. This image has hit the front page of every New York area paper and will most likely back fire badly on Clinton. Do you think the Clinton camp crossed the line trying to create a story out of nothing at all to win back support?

Online gambling site Bodog.com has more wacky odds. This time it’s to do with our Video of the day!
In case you are like me and don’t follow politics all that much here is an article from the sites news sours, The BodogBeat:
“Barack Obama’s campaign says it had nothing to do with the YouTube video that attacks his primary Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton. (AP Images)
A 74-second video posted on YouTube remixes Ridley Scott’s classic “1984″ Super Bowl ad that introduced Apple to the world, into an attack on the Clinton campaign.
The commercial shows the same blond young female athlete running with a sledgehammer toward a widescreen, where an ominous Big Brother figure that has now been replaced by the image of Hillary Clinton, drones to a mass of dispassionate followers. The headline, “On Jan. 14, the Democratic primary will begin. And you’ll see why 2008 won’t be like 1984″ appears after Hillary’s image has been smashed with the sledgehammer. An updated Apple symbol, transformed into an O, is followed by the logo: BarackObama.com. The controversial video has received more than 600,000 views.
Will Apple file a lawsuit against the YouTube user who posted the controversial commercial? Will the mastermind behind the ad be revealed as a member of Obama’s campaign team? Bodog has all your Hillary 1984 video odds in Bodog’s Sportsbook.”
