Robert Downey Jr, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Tom Cruise, and Matthew McConaughey were on hand in Los Angeles for the world premiere of their new comedy Tropic Thunder.  Tom was escorted by his wife Katie Holmes and she was looking quiet nice towering over he little husband.  Still was accompanied by his gorgeous wife and co-star Christine Taylor.  The movie itself is meeting some opposition from groups representing the mentally challenged who are now calling for a nationwide boycott of the film.  Expect that to have little impact on the opening weekend which should take down Batman as the number 1 film in the country.

Rumors are hitting the net about some problems in the Playboy Mansion because of a new Ukrainian hottie that is making her way to the US.  Dasha Astafieva is a Playboy model that has apparently caught the eye of Hef and his current ladies are not that happy.  Reports are saying that Hef has been accompanying Dasha on her nude photo soot, holding her hand, and is amazed by her naturally beauty.  Holly Madison, Hef’s current number one girl, commented on the rumors on her MySpace blog.

One might not expect someone as stunning and photogenic as Dasha to be as down-to-earth and approachable as she is . . . . but take my word for it, she is unreal. She reminds me of a Disney princess. We had so much fun when she was here in the States, and I hope she can return soon. She is a singer in the Ukraine . . . hopefully she blows up here, too and you all can get to know her like I do.

Hayden Panettiere hosted the Whaleman Foundation Benefit last night at Beso in Hollywood.  The Whaleman Foundation raises money to prevent the gray whale hunt, Japanese whaling, and deadly sonar.  Hayden has been actively involved in trying to save sea life for quite sometime now and even traveled to Japan to take part in a demonstration.

Comedian Bernie Mac, who was a mainstay in the comedy and acting world for over 20 years, has passed away at 50.  Last week it was reported that Mac was doing well in a Chicago hospital and was being treated for pneumonia.

Comic actor Bernie Mac died early Saturday of complications from pneumonia, according to a family member and his publicist. He was 50.

The body of 24 year old Ingrid Rivera was found dead inside a rooftop utility shed at the Spotlight Live Karaoke Club in Times Square on Wednesday.  The location had hosted a birthday party for rapper Lil’ Kim over the weekend.

According to the official, a friend of Rivera’s who was with her at the club on Sunday, when the rapper’s party was held, says she last saw the victim being escorted out the door. It was unclear why she was kicked out and how she ended up back inside.

A second police official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said Thursday that investigators believe the woman died from a blow to the head and that they were “near an arrest” in the case.

Megan Fox is starring in How To Lose Friends and Alienate People as a dumb film star by the name of Sophie Maes.  MGM is using that to create a fictitious movie starring Maes entitled Teresa: The Making of a Saint.  The movie even has a website based in the UK.  It is a nice piece of viral marketing on the part of MGM, but in a movie where Fox jumps in a pool and stands around dripping wet I don’t think you will have a problem getting an audience.
