Den-mother of all lesbians Ellen DeGeneres tied the knot with Arrested Development hottie Portia de Rossi this past Saturday night. The press has called the wedding between the duo “the biggest celebrity union since California legalized same-sex marriage.” After four years together, the lovely lezzies wed at their Beverly Hills home. The 19 guests included both mothers of the brides — DeGeneres’ mother, Betty, and de Rossi’s mother, Margaret Rogers. And their dogs, of course.

Ellen DeGeneres gave Portia de Rossi a glittering ring with pink diamonds for their upcoming wedding that will air in part on DeGeneres’s talk show.

“Yes, we have set a wedding date,” said DeGeneres, who walked the red carpet with de Rossi at Friday night’s 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.

De Rossi wore a green satin Lanvin gown and a Neil Lane ring on her wedding finger. The ring was a marquis cut diamond set with pink diamonds.

DeGeneres, 50, who won an Emmy for outstanding talk-show host for the fourth year in a row, announced her plans to wed longtime girlfriend de Rossi, on her show back in May, shortly after California’s Supreme Court ruled the previous ban on gay marriages as unconstitutional.

The two stars are in the midst of preparations for what DeGeneres calls “the dream wedding.”

“Planning a wedding is very stressful,” says DeGeneres. “It is crazy. My gardener is now invited.”

The comedienne remained tight-lipped on the major details of her upcoming nuptials to de Rossi, 35, only revealing that “incredible people” would be performing, and that she would air part of the ceremony on her show.

But there are no signs of any pre-wedding jitters for DeGeneres.

“I can’t wait to be married. I feel like it is long overdue,” she said. “And I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous like we all don’t have the same rights.”

A day after Ellen DeGeneres announced she would marry her girlfriend Portia De Rossi after the ban on same sex marriages was overturned in California they were seen with some new jewelry. The pair went out to celebrate with a day at the spa and on leaving they were spotted each wearing a new ring on their wedding finger. No word on if te pair already married or if they just picked up some high school style promise rings.

Ellen DeGeneres plans to wed longtime girlfriend Portia de Rossi, she announced during a taping of her show Thursday.

In the episode, airing Friday (the news was first reported by TMZ), DeGeneres revealed the big news and told the crowd, “I’m very excited.” The announcement immediately followed the news that California’s Supreme Court struck down a law banning gay marriage.

De Rossi, 35, was reportedly in the studio when DeGeneres – who just celebrated her 50th birthday – broke the news.

In what’s sure to be a controversial decision, the California’s Supreme Court ruled that people have a fundamental “right to marry” the partner of their choosing – therefore the previous ban on gay marriage was ruled unconstitutional.

The two stars began dating in December 2004, as de Rossi was appearing on the FOX sitcom Arrested Development.

One key to their happiness, DeGeneres said last year, is that they learn from one another. “She’s taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I’ve taught her,” said the TV host. “We’ve both changed and grown, and we just feel like, ‘Oh, okay, this is completion.’ ”

Ellen DeGeneres has revealed she plans to marry her longterm girlfriend.

During a taping of the “Ellen DeGeneres Show”, the 50-year-old talk show titan told a surprised audience that she plans to wed her partner of 4-years, former Ally McBeal star Portia de Rossi.

Ellen’s news follows yesterday’s California Supreme Court ruling striking down the state’s ban on gay marriage.

Ellen also told The Advocate magazine how she felt about the landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage in the state.

“I’m thrilled that the California supreme court overturned the ban on gay marriage,” she said. “I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote.”

DESPITE the doggie drama surrounding Iggy, the cute pup Ellen DeGeneres adopted then gave away last October, the talk queen has rebounded. She’s been named one of the best on TV when it comes to raising awareness of animal issues by Beverly Kaskey, senior director of the Hollywood branch of the Humane Society. “Ellen took on the cruelty of hunting, cooking lobsters and even defended small insects,” Kaskey explained to the Fancast Web site. Lisa Simpson, of “The Simpsons” also got props for becoming a vegetarian in one episode. “Lisa makes the connection between the lamb chops on her plate and the lamb she had befriended earlier and refuses to eat her dinner,” said Kaskey. And on the negative side, “Survivor” is ripped for one episode in which contestants “beheaded a rooster and stabbed to death a squealing pig. The frenzy ended with one contestant smearing blood on his face.”

Chat show Titan Ellen DeGenres is getting kudos from her pet pooches — after introducing her very own brand of pet food.

“I should have done it a long time ago,” Ellen tells Parade magazine about her new feline venture. “I was waiting for the right thing.”

The new pet food remains unnamed — but Ellen, 50, plans to take a leaf out of  salad dressing king Paul Newman’s book. “We’re tentatively calling it Ellen’s Own,” she adds. “Sort of like Paul Newman’s Own.

“We’re still working on the name.”

DeGenres’ pet food can be eaten by humans — but Ellen herself is yet to indulge. “I have not tasted it yet,” she said “A lot of my people have. I have my people taste it first. I have people tasters. No, my life’s going pretty good. I don’t need to eat it yet.

The pet food is completely natural — so it’s suitable for even the most pampered pets. “People love their animals so much so that they put little clothes on them and necklaces and booties and things like that,” said Ellen. “And if you love your animal, then you should feed them something that’s not dangerous for them.

“There’s a lot of poisonous stuff that they’re putting in a lot of that food, those by-products.”

Jenna Bush, phone home. The first daughter appeared nervous when Ellen DeGeneres asked her to call her parents during a taping of DeGeneres’ talk show Tuesday. The show aired Wednesday. “They’re going to kill me,” the 26-year-old told DeGeneres. “I’m going to be in so much trouble.”

“No, they’re going to be thrilled,” DeGeneres said. “Why wouldn’t they want to say `hi’ to everybody and say Merry Christmas?”

“They may have wanted some warning,” responded Bush, who was on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to promote her new book, “Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope.”

All was well, though, when she reached her parents on speakerphone.

“I’m just sitting here with daddy,” Laura Bush told her daughter, to which DeGeneres chimed in: “Oh hey! It’s Ellen. I wanted to say hi to daddy.”

So the president got on the line: “How’s my little girl doing?”

“Oh, she’s great. She’s scared she’s going to get in trouble because I just said, `Is it easy to just pick up the phone and call your dad anytime?’” DeGeneres said. “And now she’s scared she’s not going to get any Christmas presents.”

Bush said he wasn’t angry.

“I do want to say Merry Christmas to your audience, and I want to tell my little girl I love her,” the president said.

“I love you too, Dad,” Jenna responded.

The “scentsational” Mariah Carey stopped by Ellen Wednesday to talk turkey – and perfume.

“You smell a little like s’mores,” Ellen DeGeneres said, welcoming the divine diva to her show Wednesday.

“I’m not really a fragrance girl. I don’t really like scents,” Carey contended as she spritzed her host from head to toe with her new perfume, M by Mariah Carey. “[But, the company] was like, ‘We want this to be a representation of you.’ ”

The songstress worked closely with perfumers to arrive at both her signature scent as well as the pretty purple bottle which is topped by – you guessed it – a butterfly. “The marshmallow element you smelled before is the top note and was a subliminal thing – just to give you little campfire memories,” she explained of her first-ever fragrance.

“My [signature scent] of course, is gin and Marlboros,” countered a deadpan DeGeneres. “When you come home [with it on], they’re like, ‘You’ve been out. … No, I have Ellen’s perfume on!’ ”

Though she’ll smell yummy, Carey’s hectic schedule will keep her from having a true Thanksgiving this year. “I’m working,” she told DeGeneres. “[Though] I really want to learn how to cook a turkey. It can’t be that big of a deal, it just seems like one, to me.”

ELLEN DeGeneres has been having a rough year, what with Iggy-gate and the Writers Guild taking aim at her, but at least it’s ending on a profitable note. She just sold her 81-year-old, four-acre Santa Barbara estate, according to Santa Barbara News-Press columnist Richard Mineards. The four-bedroom, six-bathroom Spanish Colonial home – which boasts a 5,000-bottle wine cellar, art studio, pool, tennis court, three-car garage and two guest cottages – was on the market for $24 million. DeGeneres reportedly paid $16.9 million for the spread a few years ago.

DAVID Letterman, Jay Leno, Jon Stewart and Conan O’Brien all are supporting the striking members of the Writers Guild – but not Ellen DeGeneres.
The TV chat host crossed picket lines to tape her show Tuesday, the day after the union went on strike.

“There’s a writers’ strike going on, and here in Los Angeles, it’s a huge story,” she told her studio audience, defending her strikebreaking. (The episode will air today.)

“I want to say I love my writers. I love them. In honor of them today, I’m not going to do a monologue. I support them and hope that they get everything they’re asking for. And I hope it works out soon. In the meantime, people have traveled across the country. They’ve made plans. They’re here. I want to do everything I can to make your trip enjoyable and give you a show.”

It’s a decision DeGeneres may come to regret. On SurgicalStrikes.com, one former, unidentified, writer for her 2001-02 sitcom, “The Ellen Show,” reports she treated her writers “like [bleep].”

“We’d watch her in rehearsals, smiling and winning us over with her charm and comic timing. Then the director would yell cut, her face would fall, and she’d level a glare at the writers. ‘Why do you keep writing these unfunny jokes?’ she’d hiss.

“Ellen frequently eviscerated the head writer and . . . boasted of the changes she’d make in season two, starting with his firing.” But, the blogger continues facetiously, the axed writer “was a hack anyway – all he did after leaving was create ‘Arrested Development’ and win two Emmys for writing, another for Best Comedy.”

The blogger also grumbles that DeGeneres “took to” a friend of his he identifies only as “J” and “put his jokes into her stand-up act, used his words to fill two full pages in her book, then promised him a job on her new show. When he met with a low-level producer, they said he didn’t have the right experience, and Ellen pretended she couldn’t do anything to help.”

“I’m disappointed in Ellen [for crossing the picket line] but not surprised . . . given what I’ve seen from her with my own two eyes.”

A TV insider said DeGeneres is unwilling to honor the picket line because “this is her last chance in show business. This show is the only thing keeping her from a lifetime of touring college campuses.”

ELLEN DeGeneres’ latest doggy dealing wasn’t the first time she’d passed along a pup she’d adopted, says a Los Angeles producer who gave the talk-show queen a pooch she quickly got rid of.

Kerri Randles says she gave DeGeneres a male mutt named Stormy two years ago, only to find out less than two months later that fickle Ellen had re-gifted him to a member of her staff.

“She may have had it for much less time than that. I only say two months because that’s when I called to check on the dog and found out she no longer had it,” Randles said. “I was totally shocked. I thought she was out of her mind.”

DeGeneres may have passed along several other dogs over the years. Howard Stern said on his Sirius show that he’d heard she had done this nine times before.

Viewers were shocked Tuesday when DeGeneres tearfully told her viewers that the Mutts & Moms agency had gone to her hairdresser’s house and confiscated the dog Ellen had adopted from the stylist. Mutts & Moms said she had signed a contract agreeing to return the dog only to the agency if she no longer wanted to care for it.

Randles said DeGeneres seemed a perfect pet owner at first, but she quickly discovered the daytime TV hostess was “neurotic and crazy.”
When Randles took Stormy to NBC studios to meet DeGeneres, she was “drilled” for four hours by the star, her assistants and the crew.

“Everyone on the show and in her entourage got themselves all involved,” Randles told Page Six’s Marianne Garvey. “They were all coming into the dressing room, playing with the dog as if it were a new extension of Ellen.”

DeGeneres finally decided to keep the dog for a few nights to see if he’d fit into her home. She suggested that Randles take the dressing room next door to “tell the dog privately that she’d be going home with Ellen.”

“I told her I’d already had a talk with the dog. She didn’t get my jokes,” said Randles.

When she called to check on the pup a few days later, DeGeneres told her she’d decided to keep it. “She acted like she was keeping it for life,” Randles recalled.

Ellen DeGeneres almost ruined Sandra Bullock’s wedding plans after buying the property the actress had hoped to stage her nuptials last year. Bullock had her sights set on hiring out a European-style estate in rural California for her big day, but DeGeneres swooped the property out from under her, forcing the star to look elsewhere.

The actress says, “It was a beautiful Tuscan house and had these valleys and fields and llamas and I was like, ‘Oh my god, this reminds me of Europe. I grew up in Europe. I drove up (to it) and I became the weepy bride.”

The family who were selling the property promptly took it off the market, but her wedding dreams were shattered when she and fiancé Jesse James discovered someone had bought the place.

Bullock recalls, “We were told that some famous person had bought the house. They sold it out from under us! We had already booked the hotels… I was really p**sed.”

Bullock then heard DeGeneres talking about her new home on her US chat show – and she realized the comedienne was the new owner. The actress confronted DeGeneres about wrecking her wedding plans when the two came face to face for a taping of the Ellen show, which airs today.

A shocked DeGeneres said, “When we bought the place we didn’t know (about your plans) because we would have let you use it.”

Bullock eventually wed celebrity mechanic James at the Folded Hill Ranch near Santa Barbara, California, last July and DeGeneres’ TV show DJ at the time, Tony Okungbowa, played at the wedding reception.
