Heath Ledger’s ex-fiancee Michelle Williams ‘dating Hollywood director Spike Jonze’

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Seven months after the sudden death of her ex-fiancé Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams appears to have found happiness again.

A U.S. magazine reports the former Dawson’s Creek actress, 27, has started dating film director Spike Jonze, ex-husband of Lost In Translation director Sofia Coppola.

Williams and Jonze, 38, have been spotted together several times near the film-maker’s £1.5million New York apartment in recent weeks.

Williams was devastated in January when her former fiancé Ledger died following an accidental drug overdose.

Since the actor’s death, Williams has been struggling to stay strong for the sake of their two-year-old daughter Matilda.

But now it appears she finally has something to smile about again, thanks to a burgeoning romance with Jonze.

American magazine Star reports Williams was seen kissing Jonze outside his Lower East Side Manhattan apartment on July 2nd.

An onlooker told the publication: ‘Michelle kissed Spike with a closed mouth on the corner of his lips.

‘There was definitely a bit of caressing going on. She was clutching his arm. The body language was very romantic.’

Williams first met Jonze in 2006 when she auditioned for his film adaptation of the Maurice Sendak children’s book Where The Wild Things Are.

She was offered a part, but later withdrew from the film.

Actress Chloe Sevigny, who also auditioned for the movie, said last year: ‘I auditioned for Spike Jonze on Where The Wild Things Are, but Michelle Williams got the part. She’s much prettier than me.’

But last year, the pair finally worked together on Synecdoche, New York in summer 2007 and struck up a friendship.

Just a few months later in September, Williams and Ledger ended their three year relationship.

During their time on the movie - which Jonze produced - Williams was still dating Ledger, while he has been romantically linked to Drew Barrymore.

After reportedly getting together this summer, Ledger’s best friend Trevor DiCarlo, who has been helping Williams care for Matilda at her Brooklyn, New York, home, has given the new couple the seal of approval.

A source tells Star: ‘I saw Trevor, Michelle and Matilda out for an afternoon in the neighborhood. They walked around chatting, went to a pizza joint for lunch and took the subway. Heath would be happy to know all his loved ones are doing so well.’

Heath Ledger’s Family Shut His Daughter Out Of The Will

Source: www.celebritymound.com

HEATH Ledger’s father, Kim, mother, Emma, and other family members are flying in for the “Dark Knight” premiere on July 14 for what some are calling a “sort of tribute” to him - but don’t expect to see his ex, Michelle Williams, or daughter, Matilda. An insider said, “Michelle is furious with Heath’s family and threatening to boycott the premiere. Matilda is supposed to be the beneficiary of the will, but Michelle has seen nothing from them. Heath didn’t have much in cash, but there was a big house in LA and a back-end deal for ‘Dark Knight’ [that] could reap millions.” Ledger’s will, made out in 2003 before Matilda was born, left everything to his father, mother and sisters. But Matilda is now considered the beneficiary, and Kim is the executor. Williams fears that by the time Matilda reaches 18 and can cash in on her inheritance, nothing will be left. Years ago, Kim’s brothers charged that he mismanaged their father’s estate, losing millions. A rep for Williams didn’t return repeated calls.

Michelle Williams: ‘It was cool to be at Cannes’

Source: www.showbizspy.com

Michelle WilliamsMichelle Williams said it was “cool” to be at Cannes.

In her first public interview since the death of her former fiance Heath Ledger in January, the former Dawson’s Creek actress, 27, arrived in the south of France Thursday in time to take to the red carpet premiere of her film Wendy and Lucy.

“She was very, very excited – it’s her first trip to Cannes,” the film’s director, Kelly Reichardt, explained, adding that they celebrated Williams’ festival debut with some “celebratory cocktails.”

On Friday, Williams began promoting Synecdoche, New York, a Charlie Kaufman film costarring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener.

“It actually does feel kind of special to have two films at the same time,” Williams said. “The film [Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, which she’s currently filming in Boston] was sweet enough to let me come here and enjoy it.”

“[It’s] something you can look back on at the end of your life and think, ‘That was a cool thing I did when I was twenty seven’.”

Michelle Williams ‘haunted by Heath Ledger’s ghost’

Source: www.showbizspy.com

Michelle WilliamsHeath Ledger’s former fiancee, Michelle Williams, claims she is being haunted by the tragic actor’s ghost.

Williams told friends that Heath, who died aged 28 of an accidental drug overdose in January, had twice visited her as a “shadowy apparition”.

The first time, she was woken at night after hearing furniture move.

In another “visitation”, she said the ‘Brokeback Mountain’ star apologized to her for not being there to help raise their two-year-old daughter, Matilda.

Williams, 27, claimed the hauntings helped her grieve.

Michelle Williams pays tribute to Heath Ledger

Source: www.showbizspy.com

Heath LedgerHeath Ledger’s former fiancee has paid tribute to the tragic star - saying he was a “beautiful, strong and masculine.”

Actress Michelle Williams - the mother of Ledger’s two-year-old daughter Matilda - opened up about the Brokeback Mountain star’s death in a US magazine.

Several of Ledger’s celebrity pals, and ex, Naomi Watts, also lined up to remember the actor, who was found dead in January.

Michelle Williams said Heath was “vulnerable”, and was a ball of energy who suffered from insomnia. And she remembered the time immediately after their daughter was born as the best of her life. She said: “The first six weeks of our daughter’s Matilda’s life was this incredibly insular, protected time.

“It was just he and I and her, living in our new house in Brooklyn. No nanny, no help - not really even any family. A couple of friends came through, but we were really committed to forming a bond just between the three of us. And then that bubble got broken with work.

“Brokeback Mountain was going to come out and the press stuff just started rearing up. But those six weeks were just blissful.

She added: “For as long as I’d known him, he had bouts with insomnia. He just had too much energy.

“His mind was turning, turning, turning - always turning. He had an uncontrollable energy. He buzzed. He would jump out of bed.”

“I think that the interesting thing about Heath, which maybe people have only really fully discovered in his death, his how vulnerable he was,” the 27-year-old added.

She said: “You can pick up on it in his performances, but it’s easy to overlook because he was so physical and beautiful and strong and masculine. But there was always that underlying sensitivity.

“That’s who he was.”

She continued: “He was good at sports. He was good at directing.

“He was good at painting. He was good at taking pictures.

“He was good at building things. It could be infuriating to a lot of his friends, I mean, he had a talent for everything that he put his mind to, pretty much, so he didn’t know limits. Maybe he had never been told that he couldn’t do something, so everything was possible for him.”

She continued: “I think that music became more important to him because he could do something creative without it costing him his privacy.

“He could be more in the background. He could be in charge, but invisible.”

Ex-girlfriend, King Kong actress Naomi Watts, also paid her respects to Ledger, who was found dead in his Manhattan, New York apartment on January 22. The 28-year-old’s death was ruled an accidental prescription overdose.
She said: “At first, people were trying to shape him as this kind of teenage hunk.

“And that’s so not what he wanted. It was something that he was trying to escape into the world of real artistry. When I met him, he was just turning that corner in his work.”

She continued: “His acting was just so touching, so connected in truth. I think he was just getting started.”

They dated for almost two years after meeting on the set of movie, Ned Kelly. She told the April 2008 issue of Interview magazine: “His acting was so touching, so connected in truth. I think he was just getting started.

“That’s the deepest tragedy in terms of his work - he was just beginning to own it and embrace it.”

Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman said: “He had a really honest quality about him.

“I just remember that he had a childlike enthusiasm. His body was always in motion.”

Meanwhile, actor Sean Penn told the magazine: “His talent does speak volumes of the kind mean, the loving father and, in fact, the brilliant and gifted guy I really missed out on - that we all did in the long run. Heath might have been a giant.”

And Ledger’s agent, Steve Alexander told the magazine: “You could feel that there was something important going on [with Heath] right away. “Everyone who met him had that impression of him.”

Heath Ledger never added child to will

Heath Ledger’s will has been obtained by The Insider and the star never modified his will to include his daughter Matilda or Michelle Williams.

He leaves 50-percent of his estate to his parents and the other half to his three sisters, KATHERINE ANN, ASHLEIGH, and OLIVIA.

Insider

Now Heath’s father has publicly stated that the pair would be taken care of even though they were not included in the will.  However when you are dealing with a sizable amount of money you know there will be issues.  It would be ashame if this ended up being dragged through the courts, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Michelle Williams faces battle over Heath Ledger’s will

Source: www.showbizspy.com

Michelle WilliamsHeath Ledger’s former fiance Michelle Williams has been warned she may have to fight to ensure her infant daughter receives part of her tragic famous father’s fortune.

Two of Ledger’s uncles reportedly turned on Williams - with whom Heath had one daughter, Matilda - amid revelations the 28-year-old Hollywod star made a will leaving his wealth to his parents and sisters.

It emerged this weekend that Heath’s will had not been updated since 2003 meaning Williams and 2-year-old Matilda were never included.

But yesterday the actor’s dad Kim Ledger insisted the duo would be well looked after no mater what legal papers instructed.

“Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family,” Kim

Ledger said in a statement. “They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be.”

A series of documents filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court revealed that the actor had less than $145,000 in New York assets at the time, including a $25,000 Toyota Prius and $20,000 in furniture and fixtures.

There was no mention of his bigger assets, including trust funds, Australian properties and the beautiful Brooklyn townhouse he once shared with Williams.

Ledger’s uncles Mike and Haydn, meanwhile, have accused Heath’s father Kim of mismanaging their grandfather’s estate to the tune of $2.5 million.

They also said they had raised fears for Matilda’s future with her Sydney-based grandfather Larry Williams, according to Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper.

The uncles estimated their late nephew’s estate would be worth around $20 million after his earnings from the latest Batman movie were calculated.

Williams yesterday declined to comment about the warning, but said he was shocked to learn that the Brokeback Mountain star - who died from an accidental drug overdose in his New York apartment in January - had even made a will.

“It doesn’t make any sense because Heath professed many times his love for Matilda,” said Williams. “It makes no sense that he would not leave anything for his daughter.

“He just wasn’t that type of person.”

Kim Ledger yesterday insisted that his granddaughter and Michelle Williams will be well looked after - and said Matilda was his family’s absolute priority.

But Kim Ledger’s brothers said they were so concerned - they had advised Mr Williams to tell his daughter to hire a lawyer and Haydn Ledger said his concerns had been passed on to Michelle Williams’ mother in the US.

“I’m concerned for Matilda. I have concerns about the distribution of funds,” Haydn Ledger said.

“We pointed out to Larry just to be on guard. I had to say this about my brother. I don’t care any more. If Heath was alive we would never ever do it (speak publicly) (but) when Heath died we could see what could happen.”

Mike Ledger also spoke out about his conversations with Mr Williams.

“We spoke to Larry about Kim and his ability to manage Matilda’s assets,” he said. “Our concern is that it doesn’t happen to another family.

” We said to Larry it would be worthwhile to have a lawyer look into the issues.”

Haydn Ledger said the fallout from the fight over their grandfather’s estate in 1994 created a terrible strain between himself and his brother.

“Kim was in position of guardianship and we had to take him to court to take that off him because a sum of $2 million went missing,” he said.

Michelle Williams feels like “a walking wound”

Source: www.showbizspy.com

Michelle WilliamsMichelle Williams suffers a permanent sense of loss, she reveals in a newly published interview she gave before the death of her ex-partner Heath Ledger in January.

The Brokeback Mountain actress tells Elle magazine that she has a “hyperaware” personality that leaves her feeling like “a walking wound”.

She said: “I have that feeling inside, like when something really tickles or delights me - it’s not singular.

“I recognize all the awful things in the world, and in spite of them, I can still laugh. There’s this [American literary giant] Joan Didion quote about being afflicted from an early age with a presentiment of loss.

“Did I come into the world like that? Or was I kind of gifted that?”

Williams, 27, split from Ledger - the father of her two-year-old daughter Matilda - last September.  She tells the April issue of the publication: “I didn’t know where to go.

“I couldn’t imagine any place in the world that was gonna feel good to me.”

Williams spoke to Elle in Sweden, where she was filming new movie drama, “Mammoth.”

Matilda was darting in and out of the interview, wanting her mother to chase her, the magazine says. “She’s bigger to me than any relationship, bigger than the awards,” Williams said of her daughter. “She’s what came out of it.”

The actress admitted she buried herself in work to avoid thinking about the breakup with Ledger. “When I have too much free time, that’s when things start to get a little messy,” she said.

Ang Lee, who directed Brokeback Mountain, on which the couple met, told the magazine: “They were so sweet together.

“I ran into Heath at the Venice Film Festival, and he told me about the split. I just felt so sad. I didn’t know what to say to him. They made a great effort.”

Ledger was found dead in his New York City apartment in January [2008] after suffering an accidental drug overdose. He was 28-years-old.

When Michelle Williams spoke to Elle magazine in January, she had no idea she’d be faced with the death of her ex, Heath Ledger, only days later on Jan. 22.

At the time, she was still mourning their breakup. “I didn’t know where to go” after their 2007 split, she says in the magazine’s April issue. “I couldn’t imagine any place in the world that was gonna feel good to me.”

Williams, 27, dove into work on several films, because “when I have too much free time, that’s when things start to get a little messy.”

She als naturally focused on Matilda, 2, her daughter with Ledger. “She’s bigger to me than any relationship, bigger than the awards,” Williams says. “She’s what came out of it.”

Michelle Williams opens up about Heath Ledger breakup

Michelle WilliamsHeath Ledger’s former fiancee Michelle Williams opened up about her breakup with the actor just days before his death.

The 27-year-old actress - who split with Ledger last September - gave an emotional interview to Wonderland Magazine about her life after Heath.

The just-published interview was conducted before Ledger’s accidental overdose on January 22.

Williams said: “Obviously so much has changed for me in the last few months that I don’t really have an idea of what my life is going to be.”

The former Dawson’s Creek star hints in the article about the reasons behind their breakup. She said: “I thought I knew certain things and it turned out that I didn’t, so I don’t really try and anticipate so much anymore.

“I’m not making any bets on the future.”

Williams said she was throwing herself into life as a single parent of the former showbiz couple’s daughter Matilda, 2. “I love domestic life,” she said. “There’s been a lot going on in my personal life and part of me is … I don’t know. I shouldn’t talk about it, but it’s like I’m re-emerging back into the world or something.”

The star said that while the breakup was painful she had managed to find one silver lining in it - less attention from the media. “When you’re in a relationship with somebody who is also a public personality, then it doubles the attention from the media.

“When you minus that equation, it’s just less enticing. That’s been a real bonus. It’s the plus side of the break-up for me.”

Williams returned to work on the film Mammoth on Monday following Heath Ledger’s funeral and memorial service in Perth, Australia over the weekend. In her only public statement since his death Williams said: “My heart is broken.”

But the actress has vowed that Matlida - who she says is the spitting image of her father, “will be brought up in the best memories of him.

Michelle Williams says having a child with Heath Ledger was a “miracle”

Michelle WilliamsMichelle Williams says having a child with her tragic former fiancee Heath Ledger was a “miracle”.

The ‘Prozac Nation’ star says giving birth to Matilda - now two - has transformed the way she “judges” her body.

She said: “My body has done this totally miraculous but utterly ordinary thing. I feel like I didn’t have any relationship with my body before Matilda. Well I did, but it was just a bad one. After having my daughter I can’t judge myself in the same way.”

Michelle - whose three-year relationship with Heath ended in September last year - admits the couple struggled to cope with being in the public eye.

Speaking to Wonderland magazine prior to Heath’s death last month, she said: “When you’re in a relationship with somebody who is also a public personality then it doubles the attention from the media. When you minus that equation it’s just less enticing.

“It was so pervading, it got bad there for a while.”

Earlier this week, Michelle, 27, returned to work for the first time since Heath’s death, joining her co-stars for filming on the New York set of upcoming movie ‘Mammoth’.

Michelle Williams has issued a statement today regarding the death of her daughter’s father, Heath Ledger. This is the first, and probably the last, statement since the Broke Back Mountain star was found in his bed in a New York City apartment last Tuesday.

The statement is as follows:

Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. Michelle Williams breaks silence on Heath Ledger’s death

Michelle Williams and Heath LedgerHeath Ledger’s ex Michelle Williams has finally broken her silence about his death - saying: “My heart is broken.”

Former Dawson’s Creek star Michelle - who met Heath on the set of Brokeback Mountain - has been in hiding since the actor’s death in his New York apartment.

She said their daughter together, two-year-old Matilda Rose, will help keep alive “the best memories” of the man who was the love of her life.

“I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father,” she said.

“All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day.

“His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still.

“She will be brought up in the best memories of him.”

Although they split up a few months before Heath’s death, the couple always had the bond of the daughter they had together.

Michelle, 27, has since been under intense speculation as to the cause of their split - most centered on reports that she kicked Heath out because of drug use.

Despite releasing a statement, Michelle made it clear she has no plans to speak out more. “Please respect our need to grieve privately,” Williams said. “My heart is broken.”

Heath, 28, died in his New York loft apartment last week. He was found dead in bed with prescription pills around him.

Toxicology results, expected some time last week, are hoped to give an insight as to what could have caused the star’s totally unexpected death.

Michelle Williams “booted” Heath Ledger out of their home after drugs binge

Source: www.showbizspy.com

Michelle Williams and Heath LedgerTRAGIC Heath Ledger - who had become a regular user of cocaine and heroin in the past year, reportedly got so high on drugs, his then girlfriend Michelle Williams was forced to boot him out of their Brooklyn home.

“She couldn’t take it any more. Heath wouldn’t show up for two to three days, and all of a sudden he would show up on her doorstep, an absolute wreck,” a source close to the 28-year-old ‘Brokeback Mountain’ star has claimed.

“He was partying, doing drugs. She didn’t like the company he was keeping. She gave him an ultimatum. . . . and threatened to get custody of the girl. He wanted to make it work, but it was this scene he was wrapped up in. Was he an addict? Yeah.”

The claims come as US television shows “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” prepare to air a video of Ledger snorting cocaine with a rolled-up bill at the Chateau Marmont.

According to reports, the video was taped without Ledger’s knowledge following the SAG Awards two years ago. Ledger is heard on tape saying, “I’m gonna get so much sh*t from my girlfriend. We have a baby together, Matilda.” Matilda was 3-months-old at the time.

A pal who claims to have snorted cocaine with Ledger says the actor’s sudden rise to fame had him constantly exposed to drugs. As the pressures of work grew, he couldn’t say no, and then refused to get help. “He was hanging out with a bad crowd,” the pal tells the New York post. “He wasn’t cleaning up his act. He was making absolutely no effort . . . He was really into heroin. He wasn’t sleeping or communicating with anyone.”

Ledger was found dead in his Downtown Manhattan apartment last week along with six kinds of prescription pills.

Authorities believe he overdosed, although the cause of death won’t be official until toxicology tests are finished.

“At the end of the day this is really tragic,” the source said. “He was a nice guy. I first met him in 2002. He was scared about the whole Hollywood thing . . . I don’t think he realized how crazy it was going to be. So many people wanted a piece of him.”

But, the pal adds, things got really bad when heroin entered the picture. “Once you go down that road, then it gets really scary. Because all of sudden you shoot up, you take heroin, then you do a line of cocaine and then you take sleeping pills. Look at River Phoenix, he died exactly the same way.”

Ledger’s rep was unavailable for comment.

Heath & Michelle Ended Their Relationship Because Of His Drug Use

HEATH Ledger had become a regular user of cocaine and heroin in the past year, getting so high on drugs that an exasperated Michelle Williams was forced to boot him out of their Brooklyn home, The Post has learned.

“She couldn’t take it any more. Heath wouldn’t show up for two to three days, and all of a sudden he would show up on her doorstep, an absolute wreck,” a member of Ledger’s entourage who did drugs with him told The Post’s Lorena Mongelli. “He was partying, doing drugs. She didn’t like the company he was keeping. She gave him an ultimatum. . . . and threatened to get custody of the girl. He wanted to make it work, but it was this scene he was wrapped up in. Was he an addict? Yeah.”

The revelation comes as “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” said that “out of respect for Heath Ledger’s family,” they would drop plans to air a video of Ledger snorting cocaine with a rolled-up bill at the Chateau Marmont. The video was taped without Ledger’s knowledge following the SAG Awards two years ago. PageSix.com reports that Ledger quips on the tape, “I’m gonna get so much [bleep] from my girlfriend. We have a baby together, Matilda.”

Heath’s drug pal told The Post the 28-year-old star’s mushrooming fame had him constantly exposed to drugs. As the pressures of work grew, he couldn’t say no, and then wouldn’t get help. “He was hanging out with a bad crowd. He wasn’t cleaning up his act. He was making absolutely no effort . . . He was really into heroin. He wasn’t sleeping or communicating with anyone.”

Michelle Williams’ rep blasts Heath Ledger rehab claims

Source: www.showbizspy.com

Michelle Williams and Heath LedgerMichelle Williams’ rep has hit out at recent reports that the former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actress once forced her tragic ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger into rehab.

“Much of the tabloid reporting is inaccurate,” Williams’ rep Mara Buxbaum said. “This fabricated story of Michelle Williams attempting to bring Heath Ledger to rehab is just one lie among many. The speculation is heinous. Let this family grieve privately.”

Ledger’s alleged battle with drugs and booze reportedly affected his relationship with Williams so much - she drove him to rehab.

For three years Williams - who has a two-year-old daughter, Matilda with the late actor, was a firsthand witness to the Brokeback Mountain star’s use of alcohol and drugs, including cocaine, heroin and “a variety of pills,” a Ledger confidant told Us Weekly magazine.

In 2006 when Matilda was only five months old, Williams drove Ledger to Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, Calif., a source told Us Weekly magazine.

But Ledger refused to check into the rehab facility, and vowed to get clean himself

The couple split in September 2007, and various sources claim that Williams demanded Ledger be drug-tested before his visitations with Matilda.

Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment on January 22. He was 28.

His naked body was surrounded by open packages of prescription sleeping and anti-anxiety pills, police have said.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Michelle Williams and Heath LedgerActress Michelle Williams tried to get boyfriend Heath Ledger to check into rehab for drug abuse - but he refused and vowed to get clean himself, according to a bombshell US report.

Sources allege Williams begged Ledger, the father of her two-year-old daughter Matilda, to seek help because he was abusing heroin, cocaine and alcohol.

She even drove him to a California facility herself, but he got cold feet and told her he could beat his demons alone.

Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment on January 22. He was 28.

His naked body was surrounded by open packages of prescription sleeping and anti-anxiety pills, police have said.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Celebrity magazine Us Weekly claims Michelle tried to get him to seek help at Malibu’s Promises centre in March 2006.

But he broke his promise to clean up - and she left him in 2007 because of his hard-partying, the magazine claims. And she demanded he be drug-tested whenever he was going to be alone with their young daughter.

Ledger’s substance abuse, which included “a variety of pills,” was linked to depression and continued throughout and after his three-year relationship with Williams, a source said.

But in recent months, the Oscar-nominated actor “had been discreetly reaching out to private counselors,” according to the magazine.

“He looked like a zombie,” said a close friend. “A week or so before he died, he admitted he needed help. We were thrilled.”

Williams, 27, “cried and screamed as soon as she heard” the news about Ledger in Sweden, where she was shooting a movie, a source said.

When she returned to the Brooklyn, New York townhouse she bought with Ledger the following day with their daughter, she was a wreck, pals say.

A friend said: “She looked like she couldn’t cry anymore and was very quiet.

“Michelle is totally devastated.”

Meanwhile, actress Mary-Kate Olsen, rumoured to have been dating Ledger, is also devastated.

The masseuse who found Ledger’s body repeatedly called Olsen before she telephoned emergency services.

Another source said: “She [Mary-Kate] was inconsolable.

“She’s heartbroken and scared.”

The source said the 21-year-old star flew to New York from California right after getting the news.

It comes after Ledger’s father visited his son’ apartment for the first time since the tragedy, spending about an hour inside on Tuesday before telling a building manager he might return to collect Heath’s belongings.

Kim Ledger, accompanied by New York Police Department detectives, also paid an emotional visit to the basement, where staff has collected the hundreds of flowers, candles, cards, letters and other mementos left outside by fans in Heath’s memory.

“He said it was beautiful,” said building manager Tamba Mossa. “He was happy.”

Michelle WilliamsFilming of Michelle Williams’s new movie has been delayed while the devastated actress copes with Heath Ledger’s death.

The former Dawson’s Creek star was set to start shooting Blue Valentine - a relationship drama centered around a young couple struggling with their marriage - next month.

But the tragedy has frozen the schedule and bosses say they’re happy to wait until she’s back to form.

Williams was married to Ledger for two years and the couple had a two-year-old daughter Matilda. “We will hold off until she is ready,” says a source connected with the film.

“The production is in the process of sorting it out in respect to her.”

The new flick also stars Ryan Gosling, who Williams was rumored to be dating after they were spotted strolling together in New York before Christmas.

Production was set to start on February 25, but has been moved back indefinitely. “We’re hoping she will still come back and do the film and are happy to wait,” the source says.

“The film is tailor made for those two so of course we would want to wait. You can’t get much better than them.”

Williams had just finished shooting her last scene in the film Mammuth, in Sweden, when she received the heartbreaking news earlier this month.

Tests are still being carried out to find out what killed the Brokeback Mountain star. It’s now thought the 28-year-old may have died from a heart attack.

Michelle Williams arrived at Landvetter Airport in Gothenburg, Sweden on Wednesday with daughter Matilda, 2. The actress, who was on location in Sweden filming the movie Mammoth, was expected to return to her Brooklyn, N.Y., home after learning of Heath Ledger’s death Tuesday in New York.

A source close to Williams told PEOPLE the actress was “devastated” upon hearing the news. She and Ledger split in September, but they both agreed that parenting their daughter came first. “I can’t believe Matilda is going to grow up without a dad, without knowing her father,” another source told PEOPLE. “And that Michelle will have to deal with having a daughter who’s lost her father. She’s a survivor. She’ll make it, but it’s going to be hard. Her first concern is going to be Matilda.”
