Robert Downey Jr, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Tom Cruise, and Matthew McConaughey were on hand in Los Angeles for the world premiere of their new comedy Tropic Thunder.  Tom was escorted by his wife Katie Holmes and she was looking quiet nice towering over he little husband.  Still was accompanied by his gorgeous wife and co-star Christine Taylor.  The movie itself is meeting some opposition from groups representing the mentally challenged who are now calling for a nationwide boycott of the film.  Expect that to have little impact on the opening weekend which should take down Batman as the number 1 film in the country.

Megan Fox is starring in How To Lose Friends and Alienate People as a dumb film star by the name of Sophie Maes.  MGM is using that to create a fictitious movie starring Maes entitled Teresa: The Making of a Saint.  The movie even has a website based in the UK.  It is a nice piece of viral marketing on the part of MGM, but in a movie where Fox jumps in a pool and stands around dripping wet I don’t think you will have a problem getting an audience.

Sean William Scott and Paul Rudd team up as a pair of energy drink reps that get in to some trouble and to avoid jail time they are forced to become big brothers.  The film is due out in November and will most likely be PG-13, but the preview looks promising because of Scott and anything with McLovin is bound to be solid.  Oh yes McLovin is one of the little brothers!

The first round of posters for the highly anticipated High School Musical 3: Senior Year have been released.  The Disney show is hitting the big screen on Friday, October 24 and will star all your favorites including Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel.  Make sure you mark your calendars for some important dates to know before the release.  Disney will premiere the second single from the movie on August 8 and the soundtrack hits stores on October 21.

Last night at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City the stars of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 took to the red carpet for the movie’s premiere.  Stars Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Blake Lively were smiles as the posed for pictures and Blake was looking especially sexy in a low cut orange dress.

A very pregnant Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny worked the red carpet last night at Mann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood for the premiere of their long awaited sequel The X-Files: I Want to Believe.  The film itself is being met with some mixed reviews, but that won’t keep away die hard fans that have been clamoring for a sequel since the original hit theaters.  There are already some spoilers out there for you to find or you can just click here to read the juicy details.  So who out there will be catching this one this weekend??? The newest Friday the 13th will hit theaters on - what else - Friday the 13th in February 2009.  The Michael Bay produced movie will bring back one of the legends of big screen horror and hopefully he will do it justice.  Jason will be played by Derek Mears who is one freaky looking actor to begin with so I am hopeful about this film.

Abrams is taking on one of the most popular and followed science fiction series of all time.  On May 8, 2009 the latest Star Trek will hit theaters and chronicle the early takes of Captain James T. Kirk and his crew on the USS Enterprise.  Posters from the movie have been released featuring Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Uhura (Zoë Saldana), and Nero (Eric Bana).  In the larger individual shot notice the eyes.  If you recall there was a teaser that was featured during the previews of Cloverfield.

The Dark Knight express rolled into new York City last night for the world wide premiere AMC Loews Lincoln Square, 68th Street and Broadway.  Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Lauren Conrad, Karina Smirnoff, Ethan Hawke, and many more were on hand for the festivities.

Lindsay Lohan took her usual stroll on the set of Labor Pains yesterday in a very nice orange top that showed just the right amount of cleavage.  From he front Lindsay is looking good, but the girl has to work on her posture because she has some slouching shoulders.  Maybe she need more calcium in her diet to strengthen her bones.  I guess she is happy with Sam because she was even smiling while strolling around.

Anyone else think that Megan Fox will get more attention in How To Lose Friend and Alienate People than Kirsten Dunst?  I’m just saying if you look at that picture above I don’t think you will notice that Kirsten is even in the scene with her. X-Files: I Want To Believe hits theaters on July 25th and for those of you that have waited years for his sequel to hit the big screen you might want to turn around and run from your computer now so you will not be tempted.  On the next page you will find major spoilers for the movie that will give away serious plot points.  I have not read them or looked at them—just a quick copy and paste so you can take it for what it is worth.  David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are watching so don’t piss them off!

THIS SPOILERS ARE JUST POSSIBLE - PLEASE TAKE THEM WITH A GRAIN OF SALT

- Mulder and Scully have not been separated the past 6 years. The first shippy scene has them spooning in bed. Throughout the entire first part of the movie, their conversations are light and comfortable, including the one that takes place in Mulder’s office when he still has a beard.
- They talk about William.
- During the movie they break up over a disagreement concerning their future and in true Mulder and Scully style, they create some pretty impressive angst.
- The second to last scene of the movie is the one that got leaked by Flynet -with Mulder and Scully kissing. It starts out as a goodbye scene, but they literally ‘kiss and make up’. Chris Carter (though my money’s on Frank) does indeed like happy endings.
- The real ‘happy ending’ doesn’t occur until almost after the credits (so be sure to remain seated!), but it’s too bizarre to even describe it, so you will just have to wait and see.
- The plot is a little incomprehensible and not really interesting. It’s not scary either, but YMMV. I got the impression that at that times it was so hard to figure out what was going on that it took away from all the scariness.
- All in all, the movie is very shipper heavy and plot light.

Your favorite group of friends are taking their little show to the big screen.  The entire cast of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer will reprise their roles for a big-screen adaptation if their hit Friends sitcom that ran on NBC for a decade.  The success of Sex and the City was the turning point that got everyone on board.

‘As the biggest star of the Friends franchise, Jennifer can’t help but look at what’s happened with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex And The City film and be a little jealous.

I understand the desire to make the film for some of the cast that haven’t found much success in the years following the shows end, but will it be possible to take this show and create a movie?  We already know who is together, who have babies, and there was no real drama for a film. Will be a feel good Friends with kids type thing.  Wonder if they will mention Joey’s failed sitcom in the movie??

Eddie Murphy has stated that he is going to retire from the movie business.  Murphy is appearing in a highly publicized, but stupid looking, movie called Meet Dave opening July 11.  There was talk of a fourth Beverly Hills Cop, but that has been shot down because the script just isn’t right.

“I have close to fifty movies and it’s like, why am I in the movies?” he said, adding, “I’ve done that part now. I’ll go back to the stage and do standup.”

Now Eddie has made some decent movies, but nothing compares to his comedy movies from back in the day.  I justhope he can recapture what made him one of the leading stand up comics in the world when he gets back on stage.

Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Jason Bateman were on hand along with a star studded red carpet for the premiere of the sure to be Summer blockbuster movie Hancock.  The story of a belligerent super hero that turns his life around with the help of some sharp PR work by Bateman looks like a nice twist on typical comic book star.
