Nick Lachey is returning to his roots.

The former Newlyweds star is executive producing a pilot for an MTV reality show, which the network describes as a version of the ’80s movie and TV show Fame, according to The Hollwood Reporter.

The yet-to-be-named program focuses on students at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Lachey’s alma mater. (Sarah Jessica Parker and Carmen Electra are also famous former students.)

“The stories and relationships are all set to music that’s organic to what’s going on in the school and also performed by the kids,” Tony DiSanto, executive VP of series development and programming at the network, tells the Reporter. “This is a genre-busting, creative experiment that I’m really excited about.”

As an example DiSanto said a scene could feature kids breaking into dance in the cafeteria, which sounds a lot like a real-life High School Musical, or the soundtrack could come from a scene in which a student is practicing his or her instrument.

Lachey, who proposed the project, is executive producing it with Marc Platt and Russell Heldt.

NICK Lachey and his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo, don’t really do anything beyond getting paid to show up at events or frolic at tropical resorts that need free press - so you’d think they’d appreciate their easy-money lifestyles. Wrong! According to a source at JC Penney’s “American Living” launch at Skylight on Hudson Street, “Nick was complaining the whole time he was there. He started whining, ‘When can I get out of here?’ and refusing to take photos. That’s what he was paid to show up for.” A rep for Lachey told us, “Nick stayed and watched the entire Rascal Flatts performance at the event and had a great time.”

He may have been a “Newlywed” once before, but it seems Nick Lachey is ready to march down the aisle again … this weekend.

Pop singer Lachey and his MTV star girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo will be married in a secret ceremony at one of the Carlyle Hotels in the Bahamas this weekend, a source told FOXNews.com’s Pop Tarts columnist Hollie McKay.

Minnillo’s entourage arrived at the dazzling digs Friday afternoon, the source said.

Reps for the comely couple could not be reached.

Lachey, 34, was previously married to Jessica Simpson, and starred with her in the hit MTV reality show “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.”

Earlier this year, Simpson said she was stung when Lachey jumped back into dating after their high-profile breakup.

“Oh, it hurt me,” the 27-year-old singer-actress said in an interview in the March issue of Elle magazine. “Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I’d say it kind of hurt me.”

Simpson filed for divorce in December 2005 after three years of marriage, and is now reportedly dating Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo.

Lovebirds Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo enjoyed a weekend at the El San Juan Hotel and Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico at a friends party.  The pair have been together ever since Nick and Jessica ended their reality show marriage.  This is an early birthday getaway for the two as their birthdays both happen to fall an November 9.  I stayed at the El San Juan and I wasn’t all that impressed. If you are staying in San Juan take a look at the Intercontinental right next door which had a better casino, nicer pool,  better eats, and a hopping nightlife.

The hot tub sex session between nick and Vanessa has finally resulted in some real skin being published. Nick and Vanessa had been fighting to have the photos blocked from bing released. but i guess that isn’t going to happen now.

Lawyers had reportedly yanked the photos and the rumored video of the pair ‘gettin it on’ in the hot tub on their Mexican vacation - and they made sites with some sex pics take the photos down! The former 98 Degrees singer won’t even talk about it.

Nick Lachey was reportedly so fed of being pestered by ex-wife Jessica Simpson that he has changed his phone number so that she can no longer contact him.

Friends say that Jessica is desperate to get back with Nick – but the recent unwitting star of some XXX-rated snaps is having none of it.

A well-placed source close to Jessica tells OK: “She wants to be the girl that Nick fell in love with again.

“She’s been calling Nick all the time – at one point he had to change his telephone number. She now can’t contact him even if she wants to.”

Nick, meanwhile, says he has well and truly moved on from his Newlyweds day’s and is very happy with MTV VJ, Vanessa Minnillo.

He told OK earlier this month: “It’s good to move on. I think I’ve done that.”

Nick added: “What Vanessa and I have is real. It’s ours. Nobody can touch that.”

Not even Jessica, it seems.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo were just enjoying their one year anniversary in Mexico when they decided to re-enact some of the greatest hits from “Blind Date”. I don’t know what they were thinking when they decided to bump uglies in their not nearly private enough hot tub. Well the really naughty pictures have not been released and the couple has a high powered lawyer fighting their release, but Famous magazine has decided to put out a bit o a teaser. The couple did comment on the pictures in an interview with OK! magazine.

“It’s not like I was caught with a Mexican hooker. We’ve all gone out and had a few too many and done something stupid. We’ve all made mistakes.

“This is the girl that I love. It’s tough to see someone you care about be unfairly judged. It’s hard for me as a man to see my girl go through that.”

Minnillo adds: “It was embarrassing. But we did nothing wrong. I felt personally violated. If I was being disrespectful I would (have) expected to be punished, but I wasn’t. It’s wrong.”

I agree with Nick and this is just a natural act between a couple that have been together for a long time — a year in Hollywood is like 10 years for you and me. At least looking at the pictures the couple does appear to be having a good time. Vanessa should be careful because with her leg up like that she might slip and break something …. of Nicks!

Racy photos of the hot couple were published in this week’s Life & Style magazine, showing the two engaged in a heavy makeout session in a jacuzzi at a private resort in Mexico. We’re told, however, these photos only show part of the fun the couple had. Arriba!

TMZ has learned that the rest of the roll shows the two not only making out, but having hardcore sex in the hot tub. A source who has seen the photos tells TMZ that they are “Paris sex tape-level scandalous,” and include images of the couple in several different sex positions. That’s hot!

High-powered Hollywood attorney Marty Singer has sent a letter to the weekly mags, warning them that should they publish the steamy pics, they’ll face one mother of a lawsuit. Don’t mess with Marty!

Singer told TMZ the photographer was “outrageous and malicious,” adding, “The photos that were taken of our clients by a Mexican photographer violated Mexican law and were a clear invasion of privacy, and we have threatened to take legal action against third parties who publish the photos.”

TMZ contacted the photo agency who took the pics. We were told in no uncertain terms that they were NOT for sale!

A team foul has been called on Nick Lachey, A.J. DiScala and a handful of other big names. 

The ex-hubbies of Jessica Simpson and Jamie-Lynn Sigler have been named as defendants in a million-dollar breach-of-contract lawsuit filed by a woman who claims she was entitled to a piece of the American Basketball Association team that Lachey and a host of other celebrity investors snatched up last summer. 

According to court documents filed Mar. 22 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Laura Brau entered into a contract with DiScala last June giving her a 10 percent stake in the Hollywood Fame franchise and a $100,000-per-year salary as president of the team. 

Per the complaint, however, DiScala never had any intention of fully compensating Brau under the terms of their written arrangement and then squeezed her out of the business by selling off 100 percent of the team’s shares to other buyers, including Lachey, former baseball star Brady Anderson, NFL quarterback Kyle Boller and 7th Heaven actor Geoff Stults, all of whom were named as defendants. 

Fellow backers Stacey Keibler and Wilmer Valderrama were not mentioned by name in the suit, but Brau did sue the Hollywood Fame collectively. 

Brau calls the company that DiScala conducts business under, Brax Group LLC, “a mere shell and sham without capital, assets, stock or stockholders” and that he operated the company “to suit his personal convenience and for the purpose of evading duties and obligations, both monetary and non-monetary.” 

The disgruntled would-be Fame executive is seeking at least $1.25 million in damages, including the $250,000 that she says is the current value of 10 percent of the team. 

Lachey, who got in the game with DiScala & Co. in August, is also a co-owner of the Tacoma Rainiers, the Seattle Mariners’ Triple-A affiliate.
