Amy Winehouse’s mentor Alex Haines — the man she was reported to be dating — has been sacked after he was allegedly caught smoking crack.

Haines, who was described as “clean cut” by those around troubled singer, was caught on camera taking drugs; and Amy’s management company, Metropolis — with whom he was employed — was so furious when thy found out, they terminated his contract.

A source said: “Alex was caught bang to rights. There was no mistaking from looking at the film that he was taking drugs. It was a shock to everyone.

“The boss went mental and Alex was asked to resign. The last thing Amy needs hanging around her are more users.

“Alex was supposed to help her and he crossed the line. He had to go.”

Last night, the locks were changed on Amy’s London apartment so no unwanted people who had access — such as Alex — can gain entry.

A source said: “Amy’s out of London at the moment so she doesn’t want anyone who might have a key coming around while she’s away.

“Alex was a good friend to Amy but he caused massive rows for her with Blake. He couldn’t stand hearing they were sleeping together.”

A spokesman said last night: “We can confirm that Alex is no longer working for Metropolis or for Amy Winehouse.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have signed a three-year lease on a 1,000-acre estate in the south of France valued a $70m, contrary to reports at the weekend the couple had bought the property.

The pair decided on the palatial 35-bedroom château after viewing around 100 properties.

The picturesque residence comes complete with its own vineyard, moat, lake and forest. They fell in love with the property after spotting it from the air by helicopter.

“It’s called Chateau Miraval in a village called Brignol, which is near from Aix-en-Provence,” a source tells E! News. “And it’s absolutely unbelievable.

“Brad and Angelina are thrilled, they love the place and have already been furniture shopping to fill the place as it’s massive…The whole family can’t wait to move in.”

The pre-Roman estate also boasts a swimming pool, billiards room, indoor pool, his-and-hers gyms, sauna and jacuzzi and a huge banquet hall.

“The house is surrounded by a forest so they’ll have total privacy, which is exactly what they’re after,” the source says. “No one will ever be able to get pictures of them relaxing at home, it’s just impossible.”

Brad, Angelina and their four children, Maddox; Pax; Zahara; and Shiloh, hope to be completely moved in within the next three months, if not sooner.

A rep for the couple had no comment on the move.

Actress Kirsten Dunst has revealed she checked into rehab last year for depression.

“I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse,” Dunst, 26, tells E! in a new interview. “I went there for depression.”

The ‘Spider-Man’ star says “it was a good six months before I decided to go away.

“I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself,” she continues. “I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn’t know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.”

And Diaz insists that, when it comes to depression, celebrities are no different than anyone else; and everyone is “in the same boat together,” adding, “depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about.”

She says “there’s been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life,” including reports that she was dropped as the face of Miu Miu because of her personal problems.

Those claims, she insists, are “very painful for my friends and family.

“Everyone feels like they have to defend me. They hear the rumors, and it puts them in a defensive position,” she adds. “Now that I’m feeling stronger, I [am] prepared to say something.”

And settling rumors about her love life, Kirsten insists, “I am not dating [my All Good Things co-star] Ryan Gosling!”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt could be getting married “within the next couple of weeks”, it was claimed today.

The Hollywood super couple — who are expecting twins later this year — are said to be on the brink of getting wed in a low-key ceremony in France before Jolie gives birth in August.

A source said, “Brad and Angelina are planning a small wedding to be held within the next couple of weeks and that means having it in France.

“Angie is finally convinced that marrying Brad is the right thing to do and he thinks it’s the perfect time to do it.

“They want to tie the knot before the twins arrive - which is only a few weeks away - so the clock is ticking”

The couple, who are currently staying at Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen’s $25million Villa Maryland with their adopted children — Maddox, six; Pax, four; Zahara, three; and biological daughter, Shiloh, two, are reportedly keen to stage a “simple outdoor ceremony” there with a white, floral theme, with the children playing a major role.

Another source said, “The kids will be central to the blessing. Maddox and Pax have contributed to the vows.”

Only a handful of guests will be invited to the bash, including Angelina’s brother, James Haven; Brad’s brother, Doug; George Clooney; and Marianne Pearl, who Angelina played in the film “A Mighty Heart”.

Brad’s parents Jane and Bill Pitt are planning to fly out for the big day, although they have told friends that the trip is to help Angelina out with the kids in the run-up to the birth.

“Brad’s parents are thrilled that she’s come round to the idea of a wedding,” said a friend.

“It took a long while for them to accept Angelina, and she hated that people saw her as the one who stole him from Jennifer Aniston, but that’s all ancient history now and she’s prepared to take the next step.”

Nicole Kidman has launched a scathing attack on ex-husband Tom Cruise — accusing the actor of “manipulating” their adopted children.

The actress, who’s expecting her first biological children with current husband Keith Urban, says Cruise — who she divorced in 2001 — has turned their adopted kids Isabella and Connor against her.

She says, “It’s a pity they have been manipulated by the father to distance themselves from me.”

Dina Lohan’s new E! reality TV series ‘Living Lohan’ premiered last night — and Lohan patriarch Michael has given his insight, and believes it’s just his ex-wife — with whom there’s no love lost — trying to be a “real” mom for the camera.

Michael, who was married to Dina for 22 years — 1985-2007 until their divorce — gave his opinions in the US version of OK! magazine.

He says, “If I were to look at things from a wordly perspective, I would probably have a lot to say about exploitation, hypocrisy and even deception — and maybe at a later date, I might just do so.

“For now, let’s just say I’m still trying to figure out if this show is about managing Ali’s career and being a “real” mother, or reading tabloids.

“I’ve had a sneak peek at some future episodes and I will say that some of the people Dina surrounds the kids with still concerns me — again, I can address that when they appear on the show. I just hope Dina takes the high road — like a Lohan would — and rights these wrongs.

“If this show is about the being a mother and a manager, the most important thing is to set a good example by instilling positive values, and doing what’s right for the kid’s sake. Not for our own!

“I wish Ali, Cody and Dina the best on the show and pray that they get what they want out of it.”

Angelina Jolie says she’s lucky compared to other moms — because she’s able to work just a few months in a year.

The actress, who recently announced she was expecting twins with partner Brad Pitt, insists her hectic lifestyle is much easier than having a regular career.

She says, “I’m very, very lucky. A lot of mothers don’t have a job where they can just work a few months in a year and then come out for two days for a press conference.

“My schedule is very small in comparison when it comes to hours so I can afford to spend as much time as possible with my children.”

And both Brad and Angelina — who have three adopted children, Maddox, six; Pax, four; and Zahara, three; as well as biological daughter, Shiloh, 23 months — always make sure one of them is at home when the other is working.

She adds, “When I’m working, Brad’s home with the children and vice versa.

“We do have nannies that help us, but nobody spends the night.

“We also spend a lot of time completely alone with our children. We’ve kind of found a balance.

“And this year I’m taking off completely for the family.”

Oscar-winning director Sydney Pollack has died of cancer. He was 73.

Pollack died on Monday (26May08) at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles following a ten month battle with the deadly disease.

Pollack won critical acclaim and two Academy Awards for his epic romance Out Of Africa starring Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. The 1985 movie garnered a staggering 11 nominations and won seven including Best Picture.

He was also famed for directing 1973 classic The Way We Were and 1982’s Tootsie starring Dustin Hoffman.

While best remembered as a director, Pollack started out as an actor and continued to perform throughout his career - most recently appearing alongside George Clooney in last year’s (07) Oscar-winning picture Michael Clayton.

High School Musical star Zac Efron says he finds it easier to make conversation with women than men.

The 20-year-old actor says he prefers discussing emotional issues with his female friends because they are “good at just being there for you.”

He says, “There have been things in my life that my mum could always do which my dad couldn’t even come close to, such as talking to me in a very personal way.

“You can be ‘real’ with guys, but not really emotional. Girls are good at just being there for you.”

Zac’s affinity with women stems back to when he was at school where, he admits, he was never short of female admirers — and even managed to befriend his female teachers by making them laugh.

He said, “It was always easier for me to befriend my female teachers more than the male ones. I usually just made them laugh.”

The pair decided on the palatial 35-bedroom estate after viewing around 100 properties.

The picturesque residence comes complete with its own vineyard, moat, lake and forest which they bought direct from the owner after spotting the property from the air by helicopter.

The pair, who are expecting their fifth and sixth children later this year, hope to move in to their new home by the beginning of August as Jolie, 32, is set to give birth to twins on the 19th.

A source said: “It’s a place called Chateau Miraval which is in a tiny village called Brignol in the Var, not far from Aix en Provence.

“Just the driveway up to the Chateau is three miles long.

“There’s a lake and a swimming pool and fountains and fields with ponies in and it’s surrounded by a huge forest so no-one will be able to take pictures of them or the kids.

“They’re both thrilled as they’ve been hunting for a place on the Riviera for over a year and it’s exactly what they want.

“Last year Brad and Angelina took a helicopter along the Riviera and they were literally landing in people’s gardens of houses that they liked and were running in to ask if their properties were for sale.

“And they found this one the same way a few weeks ago, and told the owner to name his price and although it’s a huge sum of money they were happy to pay it as it’s just what they had in mind.

“They’ll be moving in roughly three months and living there full- time.”

The location of the chateau is perfect for Angelina who has chosen to give birth to her twins in France as a tribute to her French grandmother and her actress mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died last year.

“It’s absolutely stunning,” said the source.

“They’ve already bought a couple of million pounds worth of antiques to fill the place and are planning renovations with their Berlin based architects.

“They’re going to enroll the kids in a local French school and they already have friends there like Bono and The Edge from U2 and Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis.”

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora has offered to teach David Beckham how to play the guitar.

Sambora, often revered as the finest guitarist in the world, met the LA Galaxy soccer superstar during a photo shoot last month, and the pair struck up an unlikely friendship.

He says, “Beckham is a good guy. He’s done so much for soccer in the US. We both recently featured in the Father’s Day edition of a Los Angeles children’s magazine with our children.

“David should come and see me. I’d gladly give him lessons. I’d be privileged.

Jared Leto’s rep has blasted a report in the National Enquirer that claimed Jessica Simpson cheated on beau Tony Romo with his client.

“There is no truth whatsoever to the article,” Leto’s manager Jason Weinberg tells Us Weekly magazine.

Reports that Simpson and Romo have split still remain unconfirmed, but Jessica paid tribute to the Dallas Cowboys quarterback’s team — by sporting a Cowboys cap while leaving Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Thursday.

In a radio interview Tuesday, the singer’s new brother-in-law, Pete Wentz, played coy when asked if Simpson and Romo were still an item.

“But the people who have put it out obviously decided that it would do Angie most damage when she was on show in Cannes. It’s not like she can just cancel everything, because she is contractually obliged to do PR for her new movies.

Amy Winehouse has launched a scathing attack on James Bond film bosses, telling them to “put up or shut up”.

The Grammy Award winning superstar, 24, said she was delighted with the result of her recording efforts for the new 007 flick, Quantum Of Solace — believed to be without top producer Mark Ronson.

“I’ve done loads of Bond songs, there are loads of good ones I’m really happy with,” she said.

And in response to Bond bosses’ fears that using her music would detract from the film, Amy said, “I don’t know what is wrong with them or what the problem is, to be honest.

“It’s there, ready and done, and it’s up to them if they want it or not.”

It’s believed the main track up for consideration is a big Shirley Bassey 60s-type number.

Record company bosses are pleased with the “surefire hit”.

But Bond chiefs are said to be complacent. And a source said: “It’s at a delicate stage.

Kate Middleton has fueled rumors she and Prince William are set to marry — after telling close friends she would now like to be called by her full name: Catherine, rather than the more informal, Kate.
