With all the press WTA player Ashley Harkleroad is getting for showing it all off for this month’s Playboy magazine it is nice to see Anna Kournikova getting some attention.  Anna has been out of the WTA for several years after injuries cut short her once promising career that never resulted in an individual singles title, but she made plenty of money by looking sexy in skimpy outfits.  Anna has been staying in shape and took place in the WTT double tournament in St. Louis. Ashley Harkleroad  is a 23 year old professional tennis player that is currently ranked 61st in the world. Her top rank back in 2003 was 39th.  Well Ashley decided that her career in tennis isn’t going to get much better so why not make a few bucks when she is still in her youthful athletic condition.  Ashley is not like most models that grace the pages of Playboy.  She is an in shape all natural woman that shows that you can be sexy and athletic at the same time.  Some might even say what Ashley is doing makes her a role model for aspiring female athletes that have a lot of talent, but not enough to win the big bucks.  If they are sexy that can take that hard work to the pages of top selling men’s magazines.  Good job Ashley!

Ana Ivanovic might have had a disappointing Wimbledon by being eliminated in the third round, but the WTA number one is a winner in our hearts with her sexy spread in the August 2008 issue of FHM.  The twenty year old Serbian born Ana has already captured the 2008 French Open and and was the runner-up in 2007.

Ashley Harkleroad, American tennis player and the 61st ranked player in the world, is making headlines after announcing she has agreed to pose for Playboy.

“I was just lying there in hospital for three weeks, and an offer came to me. I thought about it and it was something that I did. I’m proud of my body,” said the Florida native whose pictures will appear in the August edition.

“I stay in shape and try to stay fit. I’m just trying to represent a female athlete and her body. That can be sexy too. It’s no big deal.”

Justine Henin, the number 1 ranked ladies tennis player in the world, has announced she will walk away from the game and retire.  The soon to be 26 year old has dominated the tennis world and has already claimed 7 Grand Slam titles.

After her loss to Safina in Berlin, following a month of rest, Henin said: “What I am have just gone through is not very reassuring.

“I was hoping to rediscover my confidence, and it is not easy.

“I don’t know if something is broken, but I seem to lack the ability. I need to think about.”

It’s rare to see a professional athlete walk away from a game they can still dominate.  The only recent example I can think of is when Barry Sanders left the Detroit Lions when he had many years of solid football remaining.
