Cher has confirmed for the first time she used to date Tom Cruise.
The veteran singer admits she and ‘adorable’ Cruise enjoyed a romance in the 1980s.
“He was just the most adorable man you can possibly imagine. I don’t understand the Scientology thing because I don’t understand it,” she told the Good Morning America TV show. “Sonny was a Scientologist, I did not understand that either.”
Cher, 61, has announced she is coming out of retirement after three years, for a reported $60m residency at Caesars Palace Casino in Las Vegas.
The singer admitted that she suffers from depression, but that working helps her fight it off. “When you have depression sometimes you feel like you are completely alone. But Work helps me a lot, I enjoy working, it keeps me moving and keeps me around people.

SCIENTOLOGISTS are at war with a member of their own family - the outspoken niece of the church’s powerful leader, David Miscavige.
Jenna Hill Miscavige, 24, the daughter of David’s older brother Ron, recently came out in support of Andrew Morton’s “Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography,” and slammed the star for “supporting a religion that tears apart families, both in the media and monetarily.” Since then, Jenna claims she’s been subjected to harassment.
“The church has contacted several of my friends, telling them that I am smearing the church and I am going to be declared a suppressive person and asking my friends if they would disconnect from me and, in at least one case, insisting that they do,” Jenna, who lives in San Diego, tells investigative journalist Philip Recchia.
“At least eight friends have removed themselves from my MySpace page,” she said, and blames the church for it.
Jenna let loose on Scientology last month when she posted an open letter to a senior sect official, which was later posted on the Web, praising the Morton book and slamming the church. Scientology spokeswoman Karin Pouw responded to her: “I am absolutely shocked at how vehemently you insist upon not only denying the truths that have been stated about the church in that biography, but then take it a step further and tell outright lies.”
Pouw did not respond to our call for further comment by press time yesterday.
But Jenna is not backing down. Her mother and father left Scientology in 2000, but she stayed in until 2005, during which time she says she was kept in a boarding school, only allowed to see her parents once a year and subjected to a bizarre daily regimen.
“If you flunked your uniform inspection, sometimes if you were late . . . you would be dumped with a five-gallon bucket of ice water,” she tells Recchia, a former Post reporter.
“We were also required to write down all transgressions . . . similar to a sin in the Catholic religion. After writing them all down, we would receive a meter check on the Electropsychometer to make sure we weren’t hiding anything, and you would have to keep writing until you came up clean. This is from the age of 5 until I was 12.”
Hollywood super-couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes joined Sienna Miller and Ellen DeGeneres to remember tragic actor Heath Ledger on Saturday in LA.

Here’s a quick back story:
Basically, we posted our Tom Cruise spoof on Friday Jan 25th on super deluxe and damnshow.com. We started getting these weird emails on Saturday. We didn’t think much about it.
I got a call from one of my friends about 8am Monday morning saying that site was down. An article ran in the Athens paper on Tuesday Jan 29th about the incident.
the only thing on the site was the message: “Seek the Fundamental Truth”
Later that day we got this phone call. We also received an email from someone claiming to be from the associated press investigative division and they wanted a bunch of information about IP addresses and server logs etc. I called the AP and no one by that name works for them. Since all of this stuff has happened, we decided to release the uncut version of this video.

The actor is scheduled to take delivery of the $72,500 USD - made from titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber technology - later this week.

Cruise’s voice kicks back in: “The EPA came out and said the air was clean. Of course, as a Scientologist, you go, ‘That’s a lie, [an] out[right] lie . . .’ You know, you just go, ‘Liar. Fine.’ ”
The narrator then returns to brag how Cruise “personally saw to the establishment of a first New York-covered detox project. And, no, he did not ask permission.”
That detox program, which employs saunas and megadoses of vitamins, has been widely trashed by medical experts, and even Mayor Bloomberg has ripped it, saying, “Reputable scientists do not think Scientology has any basis in science.”
An Environmental Protection Agency rep had no comment last night, although the EPA stated after the attack that the air at Ground Zero was safe to breathe.
In another video on the Internet, Cruise is seen receiving a Freedom Medal of Valor from Scientologists. Then he stiffly salutes a giant portrait of church founder L. Ron Hubbard and shouts, “To LRH!”
Cruise, said to be Scientology’s No. 2 man, has been under the microscope all week after another video showed him describing his dedication to the sci-fi-theme faith, ranting, “It’s rough and tumble! It’s wild and woolly! It’s a blast, it’s a blast, it really is fun.” Scientology reps could not be reached.

Tom Cruise isn’t shy about his commitment to Scientology – Katie Holmes reportedly signed a contract to guarantee her faith before their marriage and his children are raised as Scientologists – but a video that surfaced online has revealed the true extent of his beliefs.
The clip, hosted on YouTube and Google Video, featured a 9-minute speech by Cruise as the actor recently accepted the Freedom Medal of Valor award at an International Association of Scientologists event.

Tom Cruise: …I think it’s a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist, and it’s something that you have to earn because a Scientologist does… has the ability to create new and better realities and improve conditions. Being a Scientologist, you look at someone and know absolutely that you can help them.
“Being a Scientologist, when you drive past an accident… you know you have to do something about it because you know you’re the only one that can really help.
“But that’s what drives me… I know that we have an opportunity to really help… effectively change people’s lives and I am dedicated to that. I am absolutely, uncompromisingly dedicated to that.
“We have a responsibility.
“We are the authorities on getting people off drugs, we are the authorities on the mind, we are the authorities on improving conditions… we can rehabilitate criminals.
“…We can bring peace and unite cultures…
“Traveling the world and meeting the people that I’ve met, talking with these leaders in various fields, they want help and they are depending on people who know and who can be effective and do it and that’s us. That is our responsibility to do that.
“It is the time now. Now is the time… Being a Scientologist, people are turning to you, so you better know it, you better know it and if you don’t, go and learn it, but don’t pretend you know it. It’s like we’re here to help.
“If you’re a Scientologist, you see life, you see things the way they are, in all its glory, all of its complexity and the more you know as a Scientologist, you don’t become overwhelmed by it.

A man who tried to extort $1.3 million from Tom Cruise in exchange for stolen wedding photographs of the actor and Katie Holmes was sentenced to two years probation Thursday.
Marc Lewis Gittleman, 34, also was fined $3,000. He pleaded guilty Sept. 21 to interstate transportation of stolen property.
Gittleman, a computer technician, told the court he was sorry.
“I brought unimaginable shame upon myself and my family,” Gittleman said. “I’ll be working the rest of my life to make it right.”
Gittleman had no prior criminal record and is receiving counseling for depression, his attorney Richard Hirsch said. Hirsch described the crime as an impulsive act that showed “colossal bad judgment.”
U.S. District Judge George King and attorneys for both sides agreed that a prison sentence was not needed.
Gittleman wrote a letter of apology to Cruise’s attorney, Hirsch said. Cruise was not in court.
Court documents show Gittleman obtained thousands of photos from a damaged hard drive that was brought to his workplace by a photographer.
He then contacted David Hans Schmidt, 47, who was known for peddling nude photos and sex tapes of celebrities, and e-mailed Cruise demanding $1.3 million to keep the pictures private. Cruise’s representatives called authorities, who set up a sting operation to catch Gittleman and Schmidt.
Schmidt pleaded guilty to transmitting threatening communications with intent to extort. He hanged himself in September.

Today in New York City was the ING Marathon and to my surprise their was a celebrity involved that i was not aware was competing. Katie Holmes, that’s right Katie Holmes, competed in and completed the 26.2 mile race. Katie’s time of 5 hours 13 minutes and 37 seconds is a respectable time as she averaged around 12 minutes per mile.
