Roger Clemens has to pay those mounting legal bills somehow

Source: www.celebritymound.com

The former Yankee ace, now awaiting word from Congress on his steroid scandal, has sold his Bentley to “Rock of Love” star Bret Michaels. “Bret is a big fan of Roger’s and the car is fabulous,” said an insider. “Clemens is apparently selling his lavish goods to pay his legal fees.” Michaels was overheard gushing about his new ride Friday at the House of Blues in Atlantic City. Clemens’ agent did not return calls.

Terry Serpico Was An Army Bratt In Real Life

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Terry Serpico had some serious training for his role on Lifetime’s “Army Wives” - he grew up as an Army brat. Serpico, who plays Maj. Frank Sherwood, told Page Six his dad (also named Frank) “did 26 years in the US Army. He was a hard-ass Army major and then a hard-ass colonel.” Serpico said he uses his father’s memory to get into character. “I very much invoke my dad,” he told us. “He was a fair man but often couldn’t under stand why his family didn’t behave in a way that his soldiers did. He had a slogan for my mom: ‘Army first, family second, and you third.’ That’s what Army wives sign up for.”

‘Weeds’ sets Showtime ratings record

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Showtime’s pot-themed comedy series “Weeds” started its fourth season off on a real high, becoming the network’s most-watched telecast on record.

Meanwhile, the new series “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” which led out of “Weeds” on Monday night, gave the network its most-watched series debut since 2004, when Nielsen began reporting Showtime ratings separate from Showtime Plex.

“Weeds” averaged 1.3 million total viewers at 10 p.m. Monday, which broke the record held by a Season 2 episode of “Dexter” (1.2 million) that aired last year. An 11 p.m. repeat of “Weeds” averaged 406,000 viewers, according to Nielsen.

“Weeds” has seen its season premieres grow from the start. The series bow pulled in 488,000 viewers, while Season 2’s debut averaged 578,000 and Season 3 started out with 824,000.

After “Weeds,” “Call Girl” also did well, dialing up 949,000 total viewers at 10:30 p.m. That beat the series debut of “The L Word” (936,000) in 2004. The last new series to launch in a post-”Weeds” time slot was the comedy “Californication,” which drew 550,000 viewers in its Aug. 13 bow.

Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt expressed his happiness with the numbers Tuesday.

“Our ratings were va-va-va-voom!” Greenblatt said. “Who said hedonism is passe?”

Elsewhere, A&E’s “Intervention” averaged 2.1 million viewers with its Season 5 bow at 9 p.m. Monday, marking the most-watched season premiere for the unscripted series. That included 1.5 million viewers in the adults 18-49 demo and 1.4 million in adults 25-54.

McCain’s Camp Responds: Reports He Called Wife C-Word Are ‘Tabloid Trash’

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Momlogic.com spoke with Cliff Schechter this morning about the explosive claims revealed in his new book, “The Real McCain,” that Senator John McCain called his wife the c-word. “First of all, I wouldn’t have put this in my book if I wasn’t 100% confident that it was true,” the author said. “I heard this story from multiple sources, and little details matched up exactly when I talked to more than one person. And McCain has never denied the story directly, and I would bet you any amount of money that he never will.”

In response to Schechter’s claims, John McCain aide Tucker Boundes told Momlogic.com, “This is tabloid trash. It has no basis in fact. It calls into question the journalists that report on this.”

George Takei Obtains a Marriage License

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Star Trek’s George Takei is one step closer to the altar.

The 71-year-old actor and longtime partner Brad Altman, 54, received a marriage license from the City of West Hollywood on Tuesday morning, becoming one of the first gay Californians to obtain a license since the state Supreme Court overturned a ban on same-sex marriages last month.

“We are first and foremost beyond delighted!” an ecstatic Takei told PEOPLE minutes after he obtained the license. “It’s a landmark day.”

Just days after the California ruling, Takei announced his plans to marry Altman, his partner of 21 years. The couple plan to wed on September 14 in front of family and friends, including some of Takei’s Star Trek cast mates.

Immediately after obtaining their marriage license, “I started singing ‘One Singular Sensation,’” Takei said. “(Brad) said ‘I love you’ and I looked at him and said, ‘I love you.’”

Takei and Altman were the first couple to receive a marriage license from West Hollywood, a city that previously did not issue licenses to gay or straight couples. The wedding will take place at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles.

Ed’s Wife– Shopping Him Into the Poorhouse

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Our sources tell us Pamela McMahon, Ed’s wife of 16 years, is literally spending him onto the street. We hear she’s completely “oblivious” to the late night legend’s cash troubles, and shops like their life depended on it. Her AmEx bill is legendary — the couple reportedly owes them nearly $750K.

That’s causing an issue for Ed’s friends, who are conflicted about bailing him out. They don’t want to see their 85-year-old friend foreclosed on and homeless, but they also don’t want to encourage Pamela’s passion for Prada.

And to add insult to injury, now Donald Trump wants to exploit Ed’s sad situation for publicity. The blowhard famewhore has made a public “offer” to help the “Bloopers” star, but that’s news to Ed. Trump’s only reached out to the public — not the McMahons — as you think he might. A source close to Ed tells us the “people who are talking publicly aren’t necessarily the ones who are helping.” We hear there are others who “quietly” are trying to assist.

Ed’s rep denies Pamela’s spending is the reason for their troubles — the rep says she’s not “extravagant.”

Eliot Spitzer Might Want To Skip THIS Awards Ceremony

Source: www.celebritymound.com

DISGRACED former Gov. Eliot Spitzer is set to receive an award tomorrow, but we’re guessing he won’t feel flattered. The first annual George Burns Memorial Sugar Daddy Awards will name Spitzer the “Ultimate Sugar Daddy.” He’ll win a pound of sugar, a year’s worth of free lap dances from strippers at the VIP Men’s Club in Chelsea and an unlimited supply of testosterone pills. Other “honorees” include Woody Allen, Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Hugh Hefner and Bill Maher, all described as men who “have a penchant for women 20 years or more their juniors.” The list of winners will be read by buxom dancer Vera of MTV’s “A Shot at Love 2 With Tila Tequila.” “Sugar daddies are an icon of baby boomers - older men who use their money shamelessly to date younger women in a perpetual search for the fountain of youth,” Vera told Page Six. “We’ve even had a few on the list come to VIP club, and they are always fun when they do.”

Savanna Samson Gives A Show At The New York Sports club

Source: www.celebritymound.com

PORN queen Savanna Samson put on an eye-popping show - and got a scolding - when she whipped off her bikini top at the roof-deck pool of the New York Sports Club on Second Avenue. The busty star of “Savanna Loves Sex” was getting a head start on her tan for the AIDS Service Center’s “Safer Sex in the City” bash at Duvet on Thursday when the manager ordered her to stop. “I thought women were allowed to be topless like men as long as they weren’t being lewd,” she said. When told she was disturbing the women, Samson followed up, “What about the men?” Replied the manager, “Oh, the men. They don’t seem to mind.”

Tim Russert: Warmly remembered on ‘Meet the Press’

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Tim Russert’s chair was empty on “Meet the Pressâ€? on Sunday, two days after his unexpected death.

But Russert was very much present on the full-hour tribute to this giant of political journalism who hosted NBC’s public-affairs program for more than 16 years.

“His voice has been stilled,â€? began Tom Brokaw, who led the conversation, “and our issue this sad Sunday morning is remembering and honoring our colleague and our friend ….â€?

Brokaw and a half-dozen others were seated in front of the “Meet the Pressâ€? set and its angular table, left vacant, where Russert had presided as recently as last week.

Brokaw noted that Russert had a large wooden sign in his office that read: “Thou Shalt Not Whine,â€? which Brokaw then supplemented with “Thou shalt not weep or cry this morning. This is a celebration.â€?

But a bit later he choked up, recalling Russert’s words of awe at how far a working-class kid from Buffalo like himself could rise: “What a country!â€? he would marvel.

Among those gathered were presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin and political pundit Mary Matalin, with Maria Shriver - the former NBC News correspondent and currently California’s first lady - on a remote hookup.

All agreed that Russert was tough but fair in his interviewing, and that he, as a former political operative himself, loved politics and politicians.

What he didn’t like, said consultant-pundit James Carville, was an elected official or anybody else who wasn’t prepared to face him.

“The biggest insult to him was someone who came on and … didn’t take the show seriously,â€? Carville said.

It was a mistake they quickly regretted, because Russert took his stewardship of “Meet the Pressâ€? as a sacred trust.

“He would spend all week preparing,â€? said executive producer Betsy Fischer.

PBS’ Gwen Ifill, a former NBC correspondent, called the program “The Church of Tim.â€?

“I would actually get a pass from my own pastor to not be in church on Sunday if I was gonna be on `Meet the Press,’â€? she said with a smile.

MSNBC commentator Mike Barnicle added that Russert’s son, Luke, had told him the day before that the program was “Tim’s second son.â€?

However fitting Sunday’s tribute, it was a cruel irony that Russert had become the big story, particularly in the midst of a like-no-other presidential race that he was covering with his customary gusto. Guests he had planned to grill Sunday were senior officials from both campaigns.

All that changed with Russert’s death from a heart attack Friday. He was stricken while preparing for the broadcast at his network’s Washington bureau.

NBC aired a prime-time tribute Friday night, then devoted Saturday’s “Todayâ€? show to his life and career. His passing dominated rival cable-news networks and news-talk shows.

St. Albans School in Washington said a wake was scheduled there Tuesday evening.

Wednesday at 4 p.m. EDT, a private memorial service from Washington’s Kennedy Center will be televised by MSNBC and made available for airing by other outlets, the network said.

Russert was the face of political news for NBC as well as cable sibling MSNBC, serving as chief political analyst, a frequent correspondent and an election-night fixture, besides his off-camera duties as NBC News’ Washington bureau chief.

He had become almost synonymous with the top-rated “Meet the Press,â€? the TV institution he reinvented while becoming an institution himself. He had been its host since 1991 when the show, the longest-running on television, already was in its 45th year.

Several tape montages on Sunday’s tribute displayed Russert in action, pressing subjects from Ross Perot to Louis Farrakhan. Politicos including John Kerry and Hillary Rodham Clinton were seen telling Russert they had no interest in running for the White House.

The abrupt void Russert leaves is unprecedented in network TV news. Even the tragic death of ABC News anchor Peter Jennings in 2005 followed his much-publicized battle with lung cancer and his four-month absence from the airwaves.

There was no immediate word on who would host “Meet the Pressâ€? next week, or in the weeks after that.

Drawing the program to a close, Brokaw observed “this would not have been just another Sunday for Tim: This is Father’s Day.â€? Any regular viewer of “Meet the Pressâ€? knew Russert was a devoted son (of “Big Russ,â€? about whom he wrote in a best-selling memoir) and father (to Luke).

But the final moments - eerily yet aptly - were of Russert signing off from his host’s chair, proud and cheery, with Father’s Day greetings to all. For an instant, viewers might have wondered: Who will Russert be grilling next week?

Tim Russert: The Father’s Day That Wasn’t

Source: www.celebritymound.com

The plans were set. Sunday morning, Father’s Day, Tim Russert would finish taping his NBC show Meet the Press and fly from Washington, D.C., to his hometown of Buffalo, N.Y.

His sister Kathleen Russert-Hughes, 52, would pick Tim up and the pair would spend the day with their dad, Timothy J. Russert, Sr., fondly known as Big Russ. “We were going to take him out to eat, drive around, whatever he wanted to do,” Kathleen tells PEOPLE. “We were going to spend the time with my dad.”

Timmy, as she calls him, always spent Father’s Day with Big Russ, to whom he paid tribute in his 2004 memoir Big Russ & Me. He would either fly to Buffalo or fly Big Russ down to Washington, D.C.

“His family was the most important thing in the world,” Kathleen says. “And he always had time for family.” Kathleen declined to elaborate on how Big Russ is doing after the sudden death of his son from a heart attack on June 13 except to say: “My dad is doing fine.”

“Timmy Loved Life, He Loved People”
Kathleen and Tim had recently struggled with the painful decision of helping Big Russ move from his small, neat Buffalo home with the NBC peacock on the front door into an assisted living facility on June 6. “It was very difficult,” says Kathleen. “It weighed heavy on Tim.”

Kathleen last spoke to Tim on Thursday. “He was checking on my dad,” she says, noting that Tim spoke to Big Russ at least every other morning, sometimes once a day. “Timmy loved life, he loved people,” she says. “I was very proud to be his sister, it’s such a tremendous loss.”

When asked what she will miss most about Tim, Kathleen begins to cry. “He was always there for me,” she says. “No matter how busy he was he would always take our calls or call us – family is number one.”

Luke, Russert’s son, had been spending time with Tim on a family vacation in Italy, and would still have been overseas on Father’s Day. Kathleen hasn’t yet spoken to Luke, a recent graduate of Boston College.

“Tim was a great dad, they were the closest a father could be to a son, a bond as strong as I’ve ever seen,” she says. “The love was unimaginable from the day he was born.”

Tim Russert: His Sudden Death Explained

Source: www.celebritymound.com

TV news star Tim Russert’s abrupt collapse at the NBC News studio in Washington, D.C., Friday came as a shock – even to his doctor.

In a statement detailing autopsy results, Dr. Michael Newman said his famous patient had passed a stress test on April 29 and had even worked out on a treadmill the morning of his death.

“Russert, age 58, was known to have asymptomatic coronary artery disease (atherosclerosis), which resulted in hardening of his coronary arteries,” Newman said. “The autopsy revealed an enlarged heart and significant atherosclerosis of the left anterior descending coronary artery with (a) fresh clot which caused a heart attack resulting in a fatal ventricular arrhythmia.”

Russert’s stress test on April 29 was “normal,” Newman said. “At a high level of exercise he had no symptoms,” Newman said, adding that his blood pressure and cholesterol were “well-controlled.”

The newsman collapsed while preparing for his show Meet the Press Friday afternoon. Resuscitation attempts began immediately and after the Washington, D.C., paramedics arrived on the scene a full code was initiated, he said. He was taken to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., where resuscitation efforts continued to no avail. Studies show that survival is only 4 to 5 percent with sudden cardiac arrest, even with immediate medical attention like Russert had, Newman noted.

His Final Morning
Dr. Cyril Wecht, a nationally renowned forensic pathologist, said Newman’s description of why Russert died makes sense. “The left anterior descending artery is well known among pathologists as the widow-maker,” he tells PEOPLE. “That tells you a lot, doesn’t it? It’s a classical situation that one encounters with great frequency in sudden unexpected death where you get a blood clot, or a thrombosis, or bleeding and if he had an enlarged heart, that adds to it.”

Clots can be caused by any number of things, he said. “Sometimes it’s associated with stress and exertion, physical and/or emotional,” he said. “Was he flying a long time? Was he tired? People shoveling snow in the wintertime can get them. People working excessively hard. Or people under great physical and/or emotional stress and that can include flying.”

Russert had flown in from Italy late Thursday night, where he’d been celebrating his son Luke’s recent graduation from Boston College with his son and his wife, Vanity Fair writer Maureen Orth.

CNBC chief Washington correspondent John Harwood and Gerald Seib, his co-author on the new book, Pennsylvania Avenue: Profiles in Backroom Power, had seen Russert the morning he died. They were with Russert to tape an hour-long discussion of their new book for his CNBC cable show, The Tim Russert Program.

“We walked out of the taping around 10:15 and Gerry said, ‘You know, I don’t think Tim felt very well,’ ” Harwood tells PEOPLE. “I knew he was tired because he had flown in from Rome the night before, but I didn’t think much of it.”

Wecht said only one thing does not make sense to him – Newman’s claim that Russert passed the stress test on April 29 and that he could have passed one an hour before his death. “This hardening of the arteries is something that builds up over a period of years,” said Wecht. “So he wouldn’t be able to continue the stress test. He’d get short of breath.”

Siegfried and Roy welcome tiger cubs to habitat

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Siegfried and Roy might want to move the good furniture into storage for a while. The famed illusionists welcomed five new tiger cubs to their exotic habitat on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, a move Siegfried Fischbacher said would be therapeutic for Roy Horn, who was critically injured when he was mauled by a 380-pound white Bengal tiger onstage in 2003.

“That gives him a reason to get up in the morning,” Fischbacher said.

Horn did not answer questions from reporters but played with the small tigers, holding them for the cameras, kissing them and nibbling on one’s small ear. The playful, 15-pound, 6-week old cubs were brought to Las Vegas three weeks ago to be part of the longtime duo’s animal breeding program.

The cubs - two white females, two white striped females and a golden male tiger - were to be taken to a nursery for public display at the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage hotel-casino. The exhibit houses lions, tigers, leopards and a black panther.

“Our life is a purpose,” Fischbacher said. “Our purpose is to keep them from extinction.”

Fischbacher said Horn had named the golden cub Svengali because it was a name for a womanizer - and the cub was growing up with four females.

“He has to hold court,” he said.

Fischbacher said the illusionists were moving ahead as promised with a one-night-only comeback next year to benefit the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute. But he’s not sure whether the young tigers will be a part of the Feb. 7, 2009, performance.

“I’m always getting questions, ‘Are they going to be in our show?’” he said. “They are just a part of our life.”

Horn was critically injured when the white tiger, Montecore, sank its teeth into his neck and dragged him offstage in front of a horrified audience at The Mirage in October 2003, ending one of the most successful casino shows in Las Vegas history.

The near-fatal mauling left Horn, partially paralyzed, damaged a neck artery and crushed his windpipe.

The pair have said they believed Montecore sensed Horn was having a mini-stroke and was dragging him to safety, rather than attacking him.

Mike Myers on Justin’s Speedo: We Used “Special Effects to Reduce the Size”

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Mike Myers admits he had a “man crush” on Justin Timberlake while shooting their new comedy The Love Guru (out June 20).

“I will confirm that,” Myers told Usmagazine.com at the Hollywood premiere on Wednesday.

His take on Timberlake in speedo?

“What is amazing about the speedo is that they have to do a lot of special effects to reduce the size,” he joked. “Oh, yeah … you heard it here first, folks!”

Co-star Verne Troyer wasn’t as enthused about the scene.

“I didn’t actually have to see it, luckily,” he told Us. “Just watching him on film was enough. I was just embarrassed for him.”

Timberlake’s BFF Trace Ayala shrugged off the speedo scene.

“Man, I see this kid naked all the time!” he told Us. “I am just glad that he put some clothes on!”

Tila Tequila: Gays Can Get Married “Because of Me”

Source: www.celebritymound.com

MTV reality queen Tila Tequila says she played a part in California recently dropping its ban on gay marriage.

“It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement,” she told Usmagazine.com at the Hollywood premiere of The Love Guru on Wednesday.

“Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships],” she said. “Then they realized, ‘Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.’ The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal.”

Does she want to get hitched?

“I definitely want to,” she said. “Definitely.”

Does she ever lean more towards one sex than the other?

“I do,” she said. “Sometimes you feel like you get a little too much of one side, and you feel like the other side is better.”

This summer, Tequila — who is writing a “self-help” book — says she won’t fall in love with a boy or girl.

“I am going to Africa,” she told Us. “I think maybe I will fall in love in Africa.”

“I was going to kill myself . . . One thing I knew for sure: If I jumped, no one would find me at the bottom of the canyon,” the daughter of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and the late Cyrinda Foxe writes in her memoir, “Creating Myself,” out in October. “I sat down and let my legs dangle over the edge. I puffed on a joint . . . I wondered if it was going to hurt. If it did, it wouldn’t matter for more than an instant, right?” Tyler, 21 at the time, was saved by her cellphone, which rang with a message from MTV offering her a job as a “metal chick” VJ. Brooke Hogan “Freaked Out” Over Mom’s Romance

Source: www.celebritymound.com

Not everyone approves of Hollywood cougars—least of all their cubs.

Brooke Hogan’s reaction to her 48-year-old mom, Linda, dating someone 29 years her junior? “I’m totally freaked out,” she told E! satellite radio personality Michael Yo during a conversation the two had off air.

“I personally don’t like it at all or condone it, but she’s my mom, so I have to show her support.”

The Hulkster’s daughter also confirmed that mom’s man-child, Charley Hill, 19, was a classmate of hers and her jailed brother, Nick.
“I went to school with him. He was a grade under me…Me and Nick know him well. Me and Nick are two years apart, and he was right between us (in school).”

While nothing about the Hogans—perma-tans and peroxide ‘dos included—might seem normal to anyone else, Brooke says she thought her family was just a run-of-the-mill Hollywood clan, but that perception has changed a tad.

“I am just staying the course and dealing with it and supporting my family,” says Brooke. “I’m actually on my way to see Nick now…You know, I thought we were one of the normal Hollywood families. It’s crazy watching it all fall apart, but I hope for the best.”

The name of their debut single may be “Rock Star,” but the two cousins that make up Prima J are everything but. In fact, Jessica and Janelle Martinez are so down-to-earth, it seems just as odd that their song is the lead track from the Bratz™ Motion Picture Soundtrack (released by Geffen Records July 31st, with the movie following August 3). Far from precocious and everything but bratty, the pair are actually a real-life version of the comradery and competitive edge captured in the movie.

Jessica and Janelle Martinez got their start as a duo when they were barely old enough to talk, performing choreographed cheerleading and dance routines for their family each week during halftime of Dallas Cowboys football games. With five uncles, two aunts, and at least three cousins with each, those family gatherings were large, which explains why the girls, then four, have no problem strutting their stuff in front of audiences now. Says Jessica, “We were always more into music than the rest of our family, and as we got older took every chance we’d get to perform, whether it was cheerleading, dancing, school plays, choir…”

As Mexican-Americans, they hope to be role models to both American and Latin girls, as they consider themselves the face of the new Hispanic in America, part of an emerging generation that “speaks English and lives Latin.” They even go so far as to affectionately refer to each other as “chilosa,” a made-up word that they feel defines Prima-J: two sassy, classy, spicy and feisty girls. They may be the girls next door, but they’re also fun and fearless, with an independent spirit and deep sense of inner confidence.

“We want to have a good time, but we also want to send a message to younger people and be idols for American and the Latin community,” sums Janelle. “Too many people don’t know that if they set their mind to it, they can accomplish anything, just like we have.”

That’s chilosa!

The noose appears to be tightening around sex-crazed ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer

Source: www.celebritymound.com

The federal case against him is so strong that prosecutors had no interest in striking cooperation agreements with the ringleader of Spitzer’s hooker-supplier, Emperors Club VIP, and his second in command, sources told The Post’s Murray Weiss.

Prosecutors have records of Spitzer’s transactions, phone records and taped conversations with Emperors Club, and are confident they need little more to nail him on charges that could include violating prostitution laws and money laundering, sources said. Probers are also said to be looking into whether he used campaign funds to pay for his pleasures.

The case against Spitzer includes the cooperation of curvy call girl Ashley “Kristen” Dupre and a second hooker. Her old boss, Mark Brener, 62, will plead guilty Thursday without the sweetheart deal he was hoping for - he’ll have to serve up to 30 months in the slammer on money-laundering and prostitution-conspiracy charges.

Brener’s deal comes one week after his ex-girlfriend, Cecil “Katie” Suwal, 23, tearfully pleaded guilty to identical charges and agreed to 21 to 27 months in jail. His lawyer, Murray Richman, declined to comment on the deal, but has long insisted that Brener - who ran his sex business out of a Cliffside, NJ, apartment - would not testify.

The day Suwal appeared in court, her lawyer, Alberto Ebanks, suggested she and Brener had parted on bad terms, telling The Post’s Kati Cornell: “She is as much a victim as anyone. She is not the bad guy here, not to point fingers at anyone.”

Spitzer had to resign his office after the Feds caught him on tape making arrangements for a “date” with Dupre at a hotel in Washington, DC, on Feb. 13.

A hooker booker who worked for Brener, Temeka Lewis, pleaded guilty in a cooperation agreement that requires her to testify about Spitzer’s involvement with the ring and his alleged attempts to conceal payments for sex.

Celebrity Circus Can Be Hazardous!

Source: www.celebritymound.com

THREE celebrities from NBC’s upcoming “Celebrity Circus” found out the hard way the show isn’t all clowning around. Christopher Knight fractured his forearm while practicing with the German Wheel, a giant disc he failed to control. Stacey Dash cracked three ribs climbing “the silks,” a length of fabric suspended 30 feet in the air. And during a rehearsal, Olympic swimmer Janet Evans fell 15 feet from a trapeze. Evans also caused a wardrobe malfunction for her female partner when her fishnet stockings got caught on her partner’s top and pulled it down. “She was completely exposed to the cast and crew,” said our spy. “Janet was trying to help her. That’s when she lost her balance and fell.” The injured were quickly taken care of. The show, which premieres tomorrow, provides the “highest safety measures,” said our insider.
